- Stealth: He's able to blend into the shadows and remain unseen until he wants to be noticed. He's even been able to disappear suddenly just like Batman.

- Only Human: Though his costume is made to protect him from some harm, he's not invulnerable. Any weapon, given the chance, could kill him or severely injure him.
- Immunocompromised: He lost his spleen after a confrontation with the Council of Spiders and the League of Assassins.
- Always Working: He often overworks himself, pushing himself farther and harder than he needs to as well as skipping sleep or sleeping little in order to accomplish a task.
- Self-Esteem: He doesn't see himself as positively as other people do. He may be confident in the plans he makes, but he doesn't often see his value as a person and can question how much other people actually need him - especially as himself, Tim Drake, rather than Red Robin.
- Black & White: He has a tendency to see things as black and white. This can risk him overlooking something or missing something that turns out to be important.
- Limited Gadgets: He's limited to the amount of gadgets he brings with him into the field.
Subject History
Tim was born the only son of Jack and Janet Drake. He grew up in a wealthy household with his parents in Gotham City. He was at Haly's Circus the same day the Flying Graysons, Dick Grayson's parents, were killed, having been in the audience, watching their act. Dick Grayson's performance, his acrobatics, stuck with him until the day, years later, he saw footage of Batman and Robin apprehending the Penguin. He noticed that Robin's acrobatics reminded him a lot of a young Dick Grayson's. Shortly after he was able to figure out Batman and Robin's identities and started to follow their careers closely.
He was even aware of when Dick changed from Robin to Nightwing and Jason Todd took on the mantle of Robin. He noticed a change in Bruce's personality after Jason died and made it his goal to reunite Bruce and Dick. He'd been hoping to bring back the Batman and Robin dynamic but Dick refused to become Robin again. It was then, at thirteen years old, Tim took on the mantle of Robin because he believed that Batman, even though Bruce refused to take him on as his new protege, needed a Robin.
When Batman and Nightwing got in trouble with Two-Face and Clayface on the loose, Tim, donning the Robin costume for the first time, and Alfred left the Batcave to save the two vigilantes. The two of them managed to rescue Bruce and Dick, and Bruce agreed to take Tim on as the latest Robin and train him. He trained over the course of several months with Alfred, then Bruce, and then Dick.
Unfortunately the Obeah Man captured Tim's parents while they were on vacation in Caribbean. Though Bruce tried his best to help, Tim's mother, Janet, died and his father, Jack, was left paralyzed. Afterwards, Tim's father was left in the care of Dana Winters, who would eventually become Tim's stepmother. Then after he helped defeat Scarecrow, Bruce decided it was finally time for Tim fulfill his new role as Robin and gave him a new costume, different from the previous two Robins.
Naturally Tim had his doubts about becoming Robin but it helped that Bruce was confident in him and his abilities. All that he still needed to do was some additional training which included a tour overseas, which not only involved additional training in fighting, it also helped him better understand who he was. The first stop: Paris, where he teamed up with Lady Shiva and Clyde Rawlins to take down a heroin trafficking operation by King Snake.
He then traveled to Hong Kong, where he continued to learn from Lady Shiva and was given his collapsible bō staff. Alongside Shiva and Clyde, he managed to defeat King Snake and stop him from unleashing his own version of the bubonic plague. Unfortunately Clyde was killed in the fighting. After that, Tim returned to Gotham and took his place at Bruce's side as the newest Robin.
He helped Bruce defeat criminals such as the False Face Society, rescue people such as Lucius Fox, and helped Bruce after hard fights all the while, during the day, taking his father to his therapy sessions with Dr. Kinsolving. Then Bruce assigned Tim to train Jean-Paul Valley. Together, the two heroes, stopped a few crimes, such as stopping a gang from stealing from Wayne Enterprises. The two of them even teamed up against Killer Croc, with Jean-Paul in the batsuit. However Bane ended up defeating Croc and leaving Tim with an injured Jean-Paul.
Then Bane unleashed almost all of Arkham's inmates onto Gotham. Tim was the first to figure out and suggest that Bane was behind it all. He set out alongside Bruce to reign in the criminals but the two of them ended up getting separated, with him going after Bird and Bruce going after the Ventriloquist. Tim was briefly captured by Bane but got away surprisingly thanks to Killer Croc. He then helped defeat the Riddler but was told to stay in the Batcave when it came to taking on Firefly and then Two-Face, though he and Alfred ending up going after Two-Face themselves and apprehended him.
Tim was there, at Wayne Manor, when it was discovered that Bane had broken Bruce's back. Together with Alfred and Jean-Paul, they managed rescue Bruce and bring him back to the Batcave. Tim was also the one who contacted Jim Gordon to get medicine for Bruce. While Bruce healed, Tim watched as Jean-Paul was given the mantle of Batman, only to realize the other man had grown far too brutal and driven. Forced to remain by Batman's - Jean-Paul's - side during missions, he had a first-hand look at the man's brutality and it even kept him from being there when his father and Dr. Kinsolving were kidnapped.
When he learned about his father's disappearance, he tried to reason with Jean-Paul only to be pushed farther away from the Bat crime fighting team. He managed to track down Jean-Paul in time to see him defeat Bane and spare Bane's life. After that, he admitted that Jean-Paul had earned the mantle of Batman, however it was clear that he wasn't wanted as a sidekick anymore.
Of course that wasn't going to stop him from crime fighting. He managed to get into the Batcave, after almost every entrance was blocked by Jean-Paul, to get his vehicle, Redbird. He fought Jean-Paul, who almost killed him, but managed to get away with Redbird.
While working solo as Robin, trying not to worry about Bruce, Jean-Paul, and his father's disappearance, he took down a group of thugs known as the Speedboyz. He then started investigating the Cluemaster and some other thugs who had just escaped prison, which led him to meeting Stephanie Brown, who was Spoiler at the time. He knew that she was Cluemaster's daughter from the beginning and had expected to see her, and she even ended up saving him from being ambushed and helping put Cluemaster and his thugs back in prison.
Tim then helped Helena Bertinelli in a gang war with Mandy Paul. Though he discovered Helena's secret identity, he never told Bruce or Jean-Paul. The two of them successfully brought down Daniel DePaolo, or Deathangel, but Tim kept Helena from killing him. Afterwards, he assisted Jean-Paul in finding a serial killer known as Abattoir but could only watch as Jean-Paul let Abattoir fall to his death into a vat of molten metal.
Bruce ended up being able to save Tim's father and soon after, Tim informed him about what Jean-Paul had been doing in the name of Batman. He was tasked with keeping a close eye on Jean-Paul while Bruce trained with Shiva. Getting information on Jean-Paul turned out to be harder than he'd expected and Dick was brought in to help him.
The two of them joined Bruce when he finally confronted Jean-Paul, though they were briefly sidetracked when Selina Kyle's life was put in danger. After rescuing her, it was believed that Bruce was killed in an explosion that had destroyed the Batmobile. While Dick fought Jean-Paul, keeping him busy, Tim learned that Bruce was indeed still alive. Tim left Bruce to deal with Jean-Paul on his own and was pleased when he heard that Bruce had won back the mantle of Batman.
That, however, didn't last long as Bruce handed the mantle over to Dick, deciding he needed a break. Unlike when Jean-Paul was Batman, working with Dick as Batman was a breeze to Tim. The two of them got along great and, thanks to Dick playing a large role in Tim's training, they fought together quite well. They defeated a variety of villains, such as Two-Face, while working together.
Eventually Bruce returned and took up the mantle again, with Dick becoming Nightwing once again. Tim then ran into the KGBeast, who rendered Harvey Bullock comatose, without any backup. He managed to save Bullock and then, after a hard battle, defeated the KGBeast just as Bruce showed up to help.
When Cluemaster started acting up, sending letters to the police from Blackgate Prison, Bruce took Tim, as Robin, to the prison to get answers. They discovered that not only was Cluemaster being blackmailed but that Stephanie had also been kidnapped. Tim rescued Stephanie only to learn, from her, that Cluemaster was in on the kidnapping and blackmail. While Bruce interrogated Cluemaster, Tim and Stephanie were sent to apprehend the rest of Cluemaster's gang.
After stopping Ulysses Armstrong, Tim returned home to find his girlfriend at the time, Ariana Dzerchenko, in his bedroom and found out she'd ran away because her uncle was planning on moving out of Gotham after his store was attacked. He also discovered that his father was dating Dana Winters.
Around that time, a classmate of his also died after attending a Ninja Camp. He then went undercover, using the alias Alvin Draper to join the camp where he quickly impressed the leaders. He passed their test and was let in on their operation. He then used that to arrange for them to be arrested.
He found out Ariana's uncle had sold the store and that she would be moving within a week but soon discovered that it had been Lucius Fox and Wayne Enterprises who bought the store, paying Ariana's uncle enough money that he could open a new store in a better part of the city and still live in the city. That also meant Ariana would start attending the same school as him.
Tim then took it upon himself to apprehend Killer Moth but vastly underestimated the villain. He was saved by an unknown party before Bruce managed to arrive on the scene but Killer Moth escaped.
Shortly after that he teamed up with Connor Hawke and Stephanie to take down some gunrunners that had been selling firearms around his high school. He discovered that one of his classmates, Karl Ranck, had been given a gun and reported it to his dad, who spoke with Karl's dad. Unfortunately Karl stole another one of his own dad's guns and took it to the high school, where he was killed in a shootout. Out of anger, Tim beat the gunrunners and had to be stopped by Stephanie and Connor. Stephanie later joined Tim to stop the gang member that had shot Karl but both of them ended up needing rescuing from Bruce, who reminded Tim that Karl's death wasn't his fault.
When the Apocalypse Virus broke out in Gotham, Tim was sent to Kendall Stuart, a man who had survived the plague. He ended up teaming up with Selina Kyle but the two of them were too late, beaten to the location by Tracker, a bounty hunter. However Jean-Paul showed up just in time to save Tim and Selina but Kendall ended up being killed by the Order of St. Dumas. Tim eventually got infected with the virus and was taken care of by Alfred, hallucinating until Jean-Paul managed to figure out the cure. Despite being weak after being cured, Tim still helped out with the relief efforts throughout Gotham.
Unfortunately, with the death of Armand Krol, it was discovered that the virus wasn't cured but rather dormant in all those that were infected, including Tim. Despite this, he joined Bruce and Dick as they traveled to Sudan in search of an ancient cure only to discover that Ra's al Ghul was the one controlling the virus. They tried to apprehend him but were forced to fight an army of assassins while Ra's escaped.
Tim and Dick tracked down some of Ra's acolytes to Paris, also stopping a terror attack on Louvre. Tim managed to defeat Shen Chi but was then forced to work with an assassin by the name of Henri Ducard. While Bruce managed to cure the virus in Gotham, Tim joined Dick and Helena in tracking down Ra's. They were never able to capture Ra's but Tim managed to steal data from his computer before his boat, the Shrike, exploded. Despite everyone they saved, the weight of all those that died lingered on his shoulders.
Tim met Bart Allen on a skiing field trip in Colorado. He was joined by Alfred on the trip so they could figure out and stop a plot between the White Heat and Mystral. He was able to guess rather quickly that Bart was also Impulse after seeing him in his costume, which surprised Bart and turned into the beginning of their friendship.
All the while being Robin, Tim was forced to lie to Ariana, which he hated, caring a great deal about her and her feelings. At one point, he got trapped with Stephanie and a thug that had previously tried to kill them in a snowdrift. He tried to save the thug as well as a mother and her child trapped in the snow as well. Together with Stephanie, they managed to dig themselves out and save the civilians.
When Ulysses Armstong got out on parole, Tim visited him and then, much to his disappointed, watched as Ulysses joined up with Winslow Schott. When Winslow betrayed Ulysses, Tim was there to save him and then apprehend both of them.
He tried to spend as much time with Ariana as he could. He once even got caught in her bedroom, though they weren't planning on doing anything except talk, and had to flee her house before her uncle strangled him. Because of that Ariana was eventually transferred to an all girls school and Tim was eventually grounded after his dad found out.
He then agreed to help Stephanie take on Lynx and her Ghost Dragons, but the Dragons proved to be too much of a challenge. Despite knowing that he should have convinced Stephanie to stop being spoiler, Tim could never bring himself to do it.
Tim later discovered Stephanie had been kidnapped by Titus Czonka, who was calling himself the Baffler at the time. Somehow he managed to be captured and tied up by Czonka as well and left to die along with Stephanie. However Czonka knocked himself out and, after the two heroes managed to save themselves, was saved by them. After that, Tim managed to tell Stephanie that it might be good for her to stop being Spoiler.
When the Genesis crisis happened, Tim failed to save a hood who had attempted suicide by drowning. The guilt weight him down and depressed him so much that he headed for the front-line of the battle. Ulysses showed up again and Tim managed to get into his lair. After Ulysses was arrested, Dick dropped Tim off in Paris, where Tim felt he could find himself again.
While in Paris, as Robin, Tim trained in the course of the Iron Master. There he met Dava Sborsc. Shortly after, the Iron Master was killed by Lady Shiva, who was looking for Dava. Tim went after Dava to warn her about Shiva, who eventually showed up. Using a super speed chemical known as Aramilla, he took on Shiva but lost control and ended up beating her nearly to death. King Snake then showed up but Dava held him at bay while Tim did his best to revive Shiva. Once revived, he watched as Shiva took down King Snake and his men.
Eventually Tim returned home to Gotham, but on his way back, the Cataclysm struck. He joined Bruce and the rest of their Gotham allies but was eventually told to stay out of majority of the city by Bruce, seeing as their was little he could do to help. During the aftershock of the Cataclysm, he fought and took down Cluemaster, turning him over to the National Guard.
He and Ariana eventually broke up, deciding mutually that their relationship was just dragging on. It was around then that Tim realized he had started developing feelings for Stephanie. He started dating Stephanie as Robin and Spoiler. After their first actual date, he found out that Stephanie was pregnant, not that the child was his. He stood by her and convinced her to stop being Spoiler until after the baby was born.
His father then moved him to Keystone City, where he teamed up with Wally West to stop the Riddler and Captain Boomerang. When Stephanie went into labor, Wally made sure Tim was there at the hospital to support her. He continued to support Stephanie as she put the baby up for adoption.
When Gotham was declared to no longer be a part of the United States, Tim teamed up with Dick and the two of them managed to get back into the city. He was ordered to track down a cache of food but when he got there, he was attacked by the Ratcatcher and his legions of rats. He managed to get away but caught a fever from the encounter, which he fought off using antibiotics. He was found by the Wolflings, a group of children, who then went off to find the food caches by themselves. Tim managed to track them down just in time to save them from the Ratcatcher and Victor Fries.
Not long after he returned to Bruce, Tim was captured by Killer Croc. He was rescued by Alfred, who rallied Harvey Bullock and Oswald Cobblepot in order to defeat Croc. With no way out of Gotham, Tim eventually called his father to inform him where he was and that he couldn't get out. His father then got the attention of Washington D.C., who sent federal agents to retrieve him. With the help of Cassandra Cain, he managed to get out of Gotham.
Due to being Robin, he'd racked up multiple absences in his previous high school and thus was enrolled into an all boys private boarding school in Gotham, Brentwood Academy. While attending the school, he hung out with Stephanie often, had Alfred as his own personal valet, and created his own hi-tech skateboard. He even took down Kirk and Francine Langstrom, as well as their children, with the help of Dick after all of them had been turned into Man-Bat-like creatures. Unfortunately the antidote he got from Jason Bard worked on everyone except the Langstrom's son.
During his time as Robin, Tim allied himself with young heroes including Conner Kent and Bart Allen, who became his closest friends. The three of them eventually created, and thus became the founding members, of a new team of young heroes known as Young Justice. Tim worked as the team's leader until they were captured and tortured on Apokolips during the Imperiex War. It was after that that he learned his teammates no longer trusted him and he quit the team, though that proved to be temporary.
It turned out that the Justice League had discovered that Bruce had contingency plans in case they ever went evil or needed to be taken out. That caused the remaining members of Young Justice to wonder whether or not Tim had similar plans for them. Not everyone distrusted him, though, as Secret, Empress, and Lil' Lobo found that they could still trust Tim.
When he did return to the team, Cassandra Sandsmark, or Cassie, was elected the new leader, though Tim remained the team's tactical expert and often aided Cassie in her role as team leader. When Secret was turned evil by Darkseid, Tim managed to remind her that she was still human, that she still had humanity and thus saved the world.
When the Titans and Young Justice were approached by a corporation known as the Optitron, who wanted to fund them, and Dick refused, both teams were attacked by an android called Indigo. They tried to fight off the android but Tim's teammates ended up being hospitalized from their injuries, which he saw as his fault. Then a rogue Superman Robot killed Omen, and Donna Troy died in a resulting battle. Tim and his teammates on Young Justice believed their lack of experience was to blame and the team effectively disbanded.
When Garfield Logan, Victor Stone, and Koriand'r decided to mentor the next generation of heroes, Tim was one of those heroes that they called to the Titans Tower in San Francisco, where they offered for him, along with Conner, Cassie, and Bart, to join the Teen Titans on the weekends. Together they defeated Slade Wilson, who ended up being possessed by his son, Joseph Wilson. Unfortunately they were also forced to battle the Justice League when they visited after a misunderstanding. After the battle ended, Dick Grayson told the League to trust the next generation of heroes.
Life became so busy for Tim that he even forgot his sixteenth birthday and was surprised by his teammates with a surprise party. Unfortunately the party wasn't all fun as he received a hologram from Alfred, claiming to be from the future, alerting him that someone within the Batman Family was going to betray them. Tim worked hard to discover who the traitor was but the whole thing turned out to be a test from Bruce, who wanted to test Tim's detective skill.
While protecting an injured Ventriloquist in Gotham, Tim called on James Gordon for help. The two were then infected by fear gas which caused them to attack each other but they were eventually stopped and cured of the fear gas by Frank Ivers.
For his junior year of high school, Tim attended the Louis E. Grieve Memorial High School in Gotham, where he met and quickly became friends with Bernard Dowd and Darla Aquista. He fought against Johnny Warlock, who took control over Henry Aquista's crime business only to apparently die after trying to kill Tim and Stephanie - though it turned out Warlock hadn't died.
While taking the Batmobile on a joyride, he even managed to rescue Raven from Brother Blood. He was then caught lying about a black eye to his father, who then found Tim's stash of Robin equipment in his room. His father confronted Bruce, threatening to reveal their secret identities and forcing Tim to quit being Robin.
He watched Stephanie become the newest Robin, his relationship with her becoming strained. He refused to return to the Teen Titans, believing civilian life was better for him, easier for him. When Scarab started killing people she thought could be Robin, Tim was put under Cassandra Cain's protection while Stephanie and Bruce went after Scarab. He later learned that Stephanie was fired from being Robin after disobeying orders.
When a gang war plagued Gotham, Tim was forced to try to protect his classmates in his civilian identity, managing to hold his own until Bruce, Cassandra, and Dick are able to arrive. His friend, Darla, however was left in critical condition. It was then that Tim decided to take on the mantle of Robin again, breaking his promise to his father. When he admitted to being Robin again to his father, his father reluctantly accepted that he's needed as a hero. His stepmother, Dana, was still left in the dark about his crime-fighting life though.
But then Stephanie was attacked by Black Mask, dying at Thompkins Clinic from her wounds. When informed about her death by Bruce, Tim didn't cry; he didn't make any sound. Instead he returned to active duty with the Teen Titans in San Francisco.
When Tim met his future self, he discovered that he was Batman and that Bruce, in the future, died in a crisis. He found out his future self killed multiple people and vowed to not become like him, knowing he didn't even want to be Batman.
When tragedies struck the families of Justice League members, Tim tried his best to keep his own family safe. However while out patrolling with Bruce, the two of them received a transmission from Barbara Gordon, who patched Tim's father in. Discovering there was an intruder who was about to kill his father, they raced back to the house only for Tim to discover both Captain Boomerang and his father, Jack, dead at the scene.
Though Bruce offered to adopt him, Tim instead created a fake uncle and moved to Blüdhaven while his stepmother received treatment at a psychiatric hospital. Bruce, of course, was easily able to track him down, figuring out what he'd done and even offered to teach him how to better cover his tracks.
When the Veteran came to recruit Tim, he ended up taking his offer into consideration, concerned more with his own missions than Bruce's; however he ended up turning down the offer.
Then he came into contact with Jason Todd for the first time. He was confronted by Jason, who had broken into Titans Tower. He fought Jason but ultimately lost the battle. To his surprise, his life was spared, though the Robin emblem on his costume was ripped off.
Tim then worked alongside the Veteran's forces in order to defend Blüdhaven from an army of OMACs. A virus ended up deactivating the cyborgs, and Tim, along with the Shadowpact and the Veteran's team, were able to apprehend the metahumans they were after. He was then whisked away with Cassie Sandsmark to help the Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, and Justice Society of America to help the battle against Superboy-Prime.
He later found out that Blüdhaven had been destroyed by the Society. Despite being concerned for the people there, including Dick, his primary concern was Conner Kent, whose body was now eating itself away after the battle against Superboy-Prime. In the search for a cure for one of his best friends, he lead a successful assault on one of Lex Luthor's genetic research labs.
However he was soon left in command of the rescue efforts in Blüdhaven only to have himself and the Teen Titans kicked out of the ruined city by the government. He then found out that Conner had died at the North Pole. Despite being grief stricken, he still aided other heroes in their battle against the Society in Metropolis.
After the battle was won, Tim joined Bruce and Dick on a journey to retrace Bruce's footsteps from his original quest to become Batman. While in Europe and helping Dick stop a plot by Intergang, he changed his costume's colors to red and black. When asked about this by Jimmy Olsen, he explained that the colors had been Conner's colors.
When Bruce and Tim finally returned to Gotham, a year after they had left, Bruce officially adopted Tim. Afterwards, though, it was discovered that Tim, as Robin, was being framed for the murder of Lynx, who had been killed in a Batgirl suit, and that Cassandra Cain had gone missing. He broke David Cain out of prison because of a ransom only to discover that Cassandra was behind it and that she had taken over the League of Assassins. She offered for him to fight at her side but when he refused, they fought and he barely managed to escape with his life.
Tim took up the leadership position in the new Teen Titans. Together with Cyborg, they tried to put the team back together after Conner's death. However the entire time, he was trying to figure out how to clone Conner. When Cassie found out, the two of them shared a kiss but they never pursued a romantic relationship.
Tim then went undercover with kidnappers, which ended with a hero known as Dodge being put into a coma, for which he blamed himself. He managed to talk through that guilt, though, while talking a teenager out of committing suicide. He then teamed up with Klarion the Witch Boy and Teekl, the three of them stopping a man named Uriah from creating a Judgment Beast.
Dodge eventually healed and returned to have his revenge along with a few other heroes, causing Tim to have to team up with Zachary Zatara and Rose Wilson in order to defeat them. Dodge ended up protecting Tim, dying in the process.
When Damian Wayne arrived, instead of becoming close to his young brother, Tim ended up fighting him. It became clear that Damian wanted to replace him as Robin and viewed him as a rival that needed to be killed. The last Tim saw of Damian, he had donned his own Robin costume and ran off to help Bruce.
That was until Damian returned to the Batcave to warn them that Ra's al Ghul had returned. Tim was distrusting of Damian and the two ended up fighting but then Wayne Manor was attacked by the League of Assassins and they were captured. Ra's offered for Tim to serve at his side, believing he'd reach his true potential if he did, in exchange for Tim's parents being resurrected. Tim, despite missing his parents, refused.
Ra's, however, also planned to take over either Tim or Damian's body and use them as his new host. Thankfully the two of them were able to escape and fought against ninjas that worked for the White Ghost. Tim ultimately made the decision to sacrifice himself, caring more about the friends and family he'd lost. Dick tried to stop him but was stopped himself by I-Ching, who insisted Tim make the decision on his own. In the end, Tim chose not to and was comforted by Dick as he cried. He then joined them in stopping Ra's al Ghul in his new body in Nanda Parbat.
A new vigilante named Violet eventually showed up in Gotham and Tim made it his goal to chase after her. He was then informed about two corrupt police officers by Jamie Harper and also found out his friend, Sebastian Ives, was diagnosed with cancer. All the while he continued chasing after Violet and when the two finally clashed, they were interrupted by a seemingly new Spoiler. He soon found out that the new Spoiler wasn't, in fact, new and that she was Stephanie Brown and that her death had been faked. The two shared a kiss and became a crime-fighting duo after this revelation.
After defeating the Wonderland Gang with Dick, the two of them were informed about Hush's return by Bruce. They were later summoned back to the Batcave to help confront Hush. Tim grew both concerned about Bruce's mental health and angry over being kept in that dark on whether or not Damian was truly Bruce's biological son. But then Bruce went missing and Tim joined Stephanie in the search for him.
He eventually learned that Stephanie had been sabotaging his efforts to find Bruce at Bruce's own request. He alerted both Knight and Squire to the situation and then rallied the Club of Heroes in order to deal with the Black Glove, which was all over Gotham. He then helped decipher the Black Glove's code and learned they were targeting the Outsiders as well as Bruce.
When Dick finally returned to Gotham, the two of them worked on rebuilding the Batcave and then later ventured to Vietnam to apprehend Hush once and for all. They were successful and locked Hush into a cell at the top of Wayne Tower.
While Bruce was gone, Tim tried his best to keep Gotham safe. When Jason Todd tried to take over the city's gangs, he had him apprehended and imprisoned at Blackgate. Stephanie, though, kept testing him and even hired mercenaries to attack him while he was fighting the new Lynx. Ulysses also returned and took on the identity of Anarky, leaving Lonnie Machin paralyzed and comatose. In order to fight the new Anarky, Tim took up the Red Robin mantle as his own, realizing he needed to do whatever it took to keep Gotham and its citizens safe.
When Lady Shiva challenged him to a fight to the death, he won by poisoning her food earlier in the day. He also fought and defeated the man responsible for his biological mother's death, the Obeah Man. Then the world believed Bruce Wayne, as Batman, had died. Tim re-donned his Robin costume and, when a gang war broke out, teamed up with Squire to try to stop it. He tried to convince Dick to become the next Batman but was shut down. He even broke Jason Todd out of prison only for Jason to put on his own Batman costume and start killing people, which Tim blamed himself for.
Tim donned his own Batman costume and fought Jason but was badly injured. He was saved by Damian and Squire. He later found out that Dick had defeated Jason and was now the new Batman.
When he saw a picture of one of Bruce's supposed ancestors at Wayne Manor, Tim knew in his heart that Bruce was alive and stuck in the past. He made it his goal to find proof while everyone else seemed to think he was merely grieving and in denial. It didn't help his frustration when Damian was chosen to replace him as the next Robin. He re-donned the Red Robin costume and left Gotham in his search.
While in Paris, he was attacked by three assassins from the League of Assassins, Owens, Prudence, and Z. After defeating them, it was revealed that Ra's al Ghul wanted to help him, that he too believed Bruce wasn't dead. The three assassins were put at Tim's disposal but in the end Owens and Z were killed by an agent of the Council of Spiders - that same agent left Prudence and Tim fatally wounded but the League of Assassins rescued Tim and Prudence.
They also kidnapped Tam Fox, who had been sent by Lucius Fox to track Tim down and bring him back to Gotham. Tim found all that out upon waking up with the League of Assassins. Ra's al Ghul seemed just desperate enough, and somehow trusting or underestimating Tim enough, to put him in charge of the League of Assassins in order to defeat the Council of Spiders. When the League failed to stop the Council, Tim realized they had been duped and that the Council was attacking the League's headquarters. He raced back in time to save Tam, the two sharing a kiss afterwards. Before escaping the League, however, after being allowed full access to the League's computer system, Tim used their very own computer to cripple their facilities all across the planet.
Tim returned to Gotham with Tam after that, knowing Ra's was going to retaliate and knowing his target was Wayne Enterprises. But then the dead started to rise as Black Lanterns. He returned to Dick and Damian's sides in order to help them defeat the Black Lantern Corps. He discovered that his biological father had been raised from the dead and even reenacted his own death to try to get a rise out of Tim. Together with Dick, the two of them used Mister Freeze's gun in order to not be detected by the Black Lanterns so they could give valuable information to their allies.
The fact that Bruce wasn't among the Black Lanterns also fueled Tim's belief that he wasn't dead, as well as the proof he'd found earlier with the help of Owens, Z, and Prudence. Briefly before he returned to Gotham, he was reunited with Conner Kent, who had come back from the dead, and who believed in him and believed him when he said Bruce was alive.
Once back in Gotham, without the Black Lanterns to worry about, he focused on figuring out Ra's next plan. He learned the details of Ra's plan thanks to Prudence, who believed she owed her life to him. He teamed up with Stephanie Brown, the newest Batgirl, in order to protect Leslie Thompkins. He even convinced Dick that Bruce was still alive.
In order to stop Ra's he did one of two things. He has Lucius Fox make him CEO of Wayne Enterprises instead of Bruce, who was being impersonated by Hush. And then he called in backup from his friends and fellow Batfamily members in order to protect Bruce Wayne's loved ones. He fought Ra's and was badly hurt and even literally kicked out of the building, ready to fall to his death but was rescued and caught by Dick.
He later found out that while with Vicki Vale, Tam had panicked and told her that she and Tim were engaged. Alfred also designed a modified version of the Red Robin costume, one specifically for Tim to help him become his own hero.
Tim then created his own hit list of villains, mostly specific to Gotham's heroes' enemies, and enlisted the help of Lonnie Machin as his own personal Oracle. He ended up apprehending Ulysses, who had been using Lonnie, and saving Lonnie's life.
Then he was brought to the Justice League's headquarters to help them rescue Bruce. They successfully saved Bruce, who became Batman once again, though Dick also remained as Gotham's Batman. Together with Bruce and Prudence, Tim helped defeat the Council of Spiders in Amsterdam. He even watched as Bruce established Batman Incorporated.
He then traveled to Hong Kong where he came into contact with Cassandra Cain, who was still a vigilante but no longer Batgirl. He gave her a duplicate of her old costume but accepted that she did not wish to return to Gotham. Once he returned to Gotham, he broke the second Lynx out of police custody, unsure if he believed her story about being an undercover cop from Hong Kong or not.
He managed to focus on his hit list, being CEO of Wayne Enterprises, and establishing the Neon Knights in hopes of preventing kids and teenagers from turning to a life of crime. All the while he tried to figure out his feelings toward Tam Fox, though the two of them eventually started dating and made it clear to the media that they were not engaged.
The next big mission for him was taking on the Unternet, which led him to Russia and an encounter with Red Star as well as a new vigilante named Promise. He ended up finding out that Viktor Mikalek was in charge of the Unternet and was even brought into the Unternet briefly before Lonnie figured out how to get him and Tam out of it. Lonnie, however, stayed behind to spy on the Unternet for him.
Then the Calculator sent one of hundreds of androids that looked just like him to kill Tam, though the attack failed. Tim enlisted the help of the Teen Titans, who to his surprise included Damian, to track down the Calculator's base of operations. They traveled to Istanbul and destroyed several Calculator androids before finding the base and Calculator himself. Once there they discovered that the Calculator had tortured and killed a former Teen Titan known as Kid Eternity.
Once the Calculator was defeated, Tim officially rejoined the Teen Titans, though not as their leader, which caused Damian to leave the team. After returning to Gotham, Tim discovered that the source of the Unternet's power was the Madmen. He was able to disable the Unternet but only after rendering the Madmen catatonic and removing their ability to ever return to their normal civilian lives ever again.
Subject Interview
It was times like this that he wondered how he could ever miss Gotham. He knew the answer, of course. Gotham was home. It had always been home even if it hadn't always felt like home. It was his home and his city.
Bruce was off, trotting around the globe, building Batman Incorporated, as far as Tim was aware. Dick and Damian still had their whole Batman and Robin dynamic duo. Stephanie was still Batgirl. Barbara was running the Birds of Prey. Jason was doing whatever it was that Jason did - scaring gang leaders and shooting people, probably.
Gotham wasn't without its heroes, both good and neutral alike. And he'd cemented himself as one of those heroes. He'd saved more lives than he could count when he stopped the Unternet - at the cost of the Madmen's humanity and yes, he still felt guilty about that.
But now wasn't the time for guilt. Now was the time for fighting, for strategies. Now was the time to focus on the fact that Killer Croc was currently trying to eat him. There'd been a breakout at Arkham - when wasn't there a breakout at Arkham? He'd responded to it first, dropping into the prison yard only to find several guards dead or seriously injured.
He fought his fair share of inmates, making his way into the prison in order to stop some of the bigger bads that the asylum housed from getting to the room that housed their confiscated weapons. Halfway to that very room, he'd found Killer Croc or Croc had found him, one of the two, he didn't think the details on who had found whom first mattered.
Now he was on his back, his bō staff the only thing keeping Croc's jaws from sinking his teeth into him. Unfortunately it didn't keep spit or bad breath off his face. Tim internally sighed. That wasn't going to come out of his mask easy. Great.
He wasn't sure if anyone else had showed up to help - preferably help him and not the escaping prisoners. There were already more than enough inmates running around, fighting guards. He didn't need anyone else helping them - they had most likely already received aid from a corrupt guard.
Croc pulled his mouth away from the bō staff. Before he could be relieved that he was no longer on the dinner menu, his mind popped a single, dreadful question into his head.
Why?
The answer came when Croc suddenly grabbed his bō staff with both hands, his grip strong, and yanked it up. Tim lightly gasped, eyes widening briefly, at the sudden jerk of being pulled up. He managed to keep his own grasp on the bō staff but now he was dangling from it, feet off the ground. Not that this was anything new. He was still closer to the ground than he'd been whenever this had happened as Robin.
That and he was a trained acrobat, of course. He used the bar to swing, slamming his foot right up under Croc's jaw. He then used his other foot to kick the inmate in the throat. Croc coughed and cursed, dropping the staff and, in turn, dropping the vigilante.
"You're gonna pay for that!!" Killer Croc snarled.
Tim was quick to land on his feet and scoop his bō staff right back up. He twirled it in one hand then shifted into a fighting stance.
"Not likely," he replied, stating it like it was a fact. Croc growled and charged him.
This was going to be a long night.
