Subject Attributes
Meta-Human Abilities:
Koriand'r's Tamaranean heritage allows her to absorb solar energy and convert it to the power of flight. The Psio'sn experiments gave her the destructive Starbolt force. Starfire is also incredibly strong, as powerful as a dozen Earth men. She is a skilled warrior whose powers and emotional intensity make her a fearsome foe.
[*]Flight: As a Tamaranean, Koriand'r was born with the natural ability of flight. By channeling absorbed solar energy, Koriand'r is able to propel herself through the air at blinding speeds, even faster than the speed of sound. While flying, Koriand'r leaves a distinct fire orange trail behind her.
[*]Enhanced Stamina: The ability to absorb solar energy allows Koriand'r to supply herself with a seemingly infinite amount of energy. Because of this, her stamina is extremely high, enabling her to feed off the energy around her and continue a fight for hours without becoming worn and weakened. Through this, Koriand'r can maintain strenuous physical activity for a longer period of time than most individuals.
[*]Enhanced Durability: Thanks to her natural physiology, Koriand'r is more durable than most. She is able to withstand most blunt or heavy blows and can stand her own against equally powerful super beings. That said, she is not durable enough to be protected against piercing objects or bullets, although seems fearless when confronted with both.
[*]Superhuman Strength: Although not as strong as the likes of Wonder Woman or Super Girl, Koriand'r possesses a great of deal of strength that, when combined with her combat knowledge, makes her a formidable opponent.
[*]Linguistic Assimilation: She is capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact.[/ul]
Standard Abilities:
[*]Alien Understanding: Being an alien herself, Kory has a deep understanding as to the feelings of others not from Earth. Her ability to assimilate language and her naturally caring nature make her quite an outer-space ambassador.
[*]Model: While not necessarily an 'ability', Kory Anders has worked as a model for much of her more adult life on Earth. She is incredibly photogenic, understands what is necessary on catwalks and in photoshoots and knows how to deal with attention.

Subject Weaknesses:
[*]Mind Control: As strong as she might be, Koriand'r has absolutely no barrier against the likes of mental persuasion. Assuming you have the power and the chance, it is very easy to place Koriand'r under telepathic control, thus making it possible to work under just about anyone's whims.
[*]Overexertion: If pushed to her brink, or if forced to do so, Koriand'r can overexert herself. While not common, it is possible if she releases a massive amount of Starbolt energy at any given period. After this she is usually “done for the day” and must take time to recharge. It is during this time that she is at her weakest and most vulnerable.
[*]Sibling Rivalry: If there's one thing that can really hurt Koriand'r, it's her vengeful sister. Being pitted against her has brought sometimes the best and worst out of Koriand'r and there are often times when she believes her sister is more than capable of overpowering her. The emotional aspect of their long and intense rivalry is also incredibly draining - Koriand'r torn between her loyalties, familial feelings and the knowledge the pair may never truly reconcile - their war only ending in the loss of life.
[*]Tamaranean Emotional Spectrum: Koriand'r possesses the traits of Tamaran's highly sensuous culture, she's inquisitive, enlightened and very insightful about life and dislikes stress and worry. She lives by the standards of a typical Tamaranean lifestyle and is extremely carefree - sometimes to her detriment. Her inquisitive behavior and attitude make her a very curious individual, which can also lead her into rather precarious situations, for which she has little recourse. When she feels, she feels incredibly deeply. Love, hate, rage, happiness, sadness - they are amplified far beyond true human comprehension. Heartbreak can be crippling, and anger can turn into a dangerous fury. Thus, both enemies and friends are capable of manipulating her using her emotions, making those with silken tongues incredibly dangerous.
[*]Not Of This Earth: Koriand'r is still learning of Earth's customs despite the time spent upon the planet. There are things that still seem strange and alien to her, just as she can seem alien to others. As much as she is trying to fit in on Earth and loves the human culture, there are at times rifts between her thoughts and those of humans. This seperation can make her feel like an outsider and remind her that she is not 'one' of the majority.

Subject History
Tamaran's Princess Koriand'r was the second of three children. Her older sister, Komand'r was the next in the line of succession, but she was crippled by a childhood illness that robbed her of her natural Tamareanean ability to convert ultraviolet light in to flight energy, so she was deemed not worthy to be queen and the succession fell to Koriand'r. When both sisters were sent to train with the legendary Warlords of Okaara, the bitter Komand'r ran off, allying herself with the 'Citadel'. They used Komand'r's information to successfully invade the planet Tamaran and King Myand'r turned Koriand'r over to the Citadel to ensure peace.
Koriand'r endured six years of torture, and nearly her own exectution, until she and Komand'r were both released for experimentation by the Psions. The Psions, who are largely sadistic scientists, performed a deadly experiment on both of the sisters to see just how much energy their Tamaranean bodies could absorb before exploding from the overload. During the procedure, Komand'r's forces attacked the Psion ship to rescue her and while the Psions were distracted, Kory broke free with the starbolts, destructive blasts of solar energy, a result of the experimentation. Against her better judgment, she decided to free Komand'r who was still absorbing energy. However, far from grateful, Komand'r struck her sister down with the same-much stronger- power and had her restrained for later execution. Koriand'r escaped and found her way to Earth. There, she met and was taken in by the Teen Titans. She chose to remain with the team and took the name Starfire, choosing Earth as her new home and quickly formed a short-lived romantic relationship with Dick Grayson, then - as Robin - the leader of the team. Starfire helped the new group of young heroes make a name for themselves as they battled and defeated many powerful adversaries, including Trigon, Brother Blood, and Deathstroke the Terminator.
After the destruction of her home planet of Tamaran by the Sun-Eater, which killed her parents and most of her people, Starfire realized that Earth was now her true and only home. During her period of grief, she decided to take a leave of absence on Themyscira with the Amazons in order to recover. During this time, she further honed her martial prowess under their tutelage and learned more of the place she was to call home - of it's histories and people.
Following her leave of absence, Kory joined the Outsiders, during a time when the entire team thought that her former lover - having taken the name Nightwing - was unstable and cared very little for his teammates. Starfire served with the team during several important missions, including a crisis that saw Indigo turn into a homicidal android, bent on destroying both the Titans and the Outsiders. She reconnected with Grayson a number of times too, though their relationship was never fully rekindled.
Shortly after the Indigo crisis, Donna Troy (who was thought long dead) returned to life and sought out Starfire, Jade, Shift, and any others who could survive in the vacuum of space to help investigate problems that were originating from the center of the galaxy. It was discovered that issues had arisen because the renegade Kryptonian: Superboy Prime had started shifting the positions of planets in that sector of space. Agreeing to help put an end to his actions, Starfire participated in an event that became known as 'Infinite Crisis.'
It was during this time that Starfire once again came into contact with Komand'r, who had adopted the monicker Blackfire. Up until that time, Starfire believed her sister had perished - having not heard from her since their encounter during the Psion escape. However, posing as X'hal, a Tamaranean Goddess, Blackfire channeled her new-found powers - making herself a beacon to her Earth dwelling sibling. Starfire, believing that the Goddess had truly shown herself, went in search of the deity, only to fall into a trap set by Komand'r. On Starfire's arrival, Blackfire ambushed her sister and Starfire was captured. Blackfire's goal was to extract Starfire's powers using them to permanently enhance her own powerset and allowing her the power of flight. Starfire eventually escaped Blackfire's clutches after an extraterrestrial conflict, which saw the destruction of her sister's starship and the apparent demise of Blackfire.
Following her battle with Blackfire and the defeat of Superboy:Prime, Starfire found herself lost in space with Animal Man and Adam Strage after a malfuncioning 'Zeta Beam' transported them to an unknown area of the cosmos. There, they visited many worlds and worked with a number of extraterrestrial beings - but their adventures were ended when Lady Styx ambushed the trio, apparently killing Animal Man and damaging their ship. Grieving for her lost team mate, Koriand'r vowed to return the fallen hero's jacket to Earth - to his family.
The journey was long and arduos, but the difficulty of the trip could not match her surprise when she found Buddy was alive on her return. Accepeting an offer to stay with his family to recover from her journey, Koriand'r and Animal Man teamed up once more to fight a space-borne virus that threatened Earth. She found herself rejoining the Titans after Buddy's son was threatened by a demon under the control of Trigon. During the battle with Raven's father, the Titans experienced moodshifs, which led to Kory and Dick briefly falling for each other once again - though it was a short lived affair. Following the demon's defeat, Dick wished to renew their relationship, though when Kory expressed doubt following his previous behaviour, Nightwing admitted (to his own surprise) that he wasn't sure he loved her.
Hurt by his admission, as she still harboured feelings for her first human love, Koriand'r left the Titans once again. She briefly joined the Justice League, aiding in fighting her deceased Titan comrades who had been risen as Black Lanterns, before joining the R.E.B.E.L.S, a intergalactic group of heroes. Doing so, she voyaged to the wreckage of Tamaran to finally pay her respects to her lost planet - only to find out it had mysteriously returned. It was eventually discovered to be an all together different celestial body, and her surviving people were relocated to Rann.
Kory is regarded as extremely physically attractive even by the standards of the superhero. She also displays the traits of Tamaran's highly sensuous culture, coupled with a no nonsense warrior attitude. Currently, Koriand'r is a member of the R.E.B.E.L.S, but also retains an active membership to the Justice League. Her relationship with Dick has come to an end, and while at first their breakup caused her a fair amount of pain, she is doing her utmost to better control her naturally tumultuous emotional spectrum and thus better herself. Indeed, she wishes to see him as a friend and no more.
Subject Interview
She jolted back to consciousness, her upper body raising and dropping forward, half sitting and half prone, doubled over her about her midriff. She found herself gasping for breath, a lancing pain searing deep into her right temple. Dark shapes moved listlessly across her vision, outlines distorted and twisting, constantly changing, rendering her momentarily sightless. A nauseous feeling had taken a hold of her, pitted deep within her stomach, soon spreading throughout her entire body. Her limbs ached, she felt faint, and it took all the strength she had left within her to stop from vomiting. She could feel her diaphragm convulsing; feel the burn of bile rising in her chest, pushing on towards her throat. Her nostrils flared as she gulped down air, filling her lungs, holding back for fear that giving into her body's urges would leave her unconscious once more.
Her long slender fingers began to desperately run over the metal flooring beneath her, feeling for a hand-hold, a railing, a wall – something to take a hold of and pull herself up from her near prone position. They moved both in front and behind her, reaching out as far as she dared, knowing that pushing herself too far would end in less than favourable consequences. Her first few attempts brought her no joy, but she seemed unable to stop herself trying. She was not sure if it was stubborn courage, sheer determination or unadulterated terror that pushed her on, but upon her fourth attempt she stretched a little further afield, and her palm met the flat surface of a wall. Pushing on it as firmly as she dared to test it's stability, she rolled onto her front when she knew it would take her weight. The movement made her gasp and wince.
Grunting, she lurched in the direction her hand had travelled, pushing herself forward sluggishly, biting her lip to hold back whimpered yelps of agony. The support she sought could only have been feet from her, but it felt like a lifetime away. Seconds became minutes as she dragged herself forward, her actions so stuttered and clumsy she could have easily been mistaken for a shambling corpse. To make matters worse, she could feel the bile rising only higher, as if spurred on by her erratic travel, her physical self betraying her – a feeling the powerful Tamaranean was not used to.
Gritting her teeth with frustration, she steeled herself, trying tor regain control of her core systems. She would not be beaten but inches from her intended destination. It was with a grunt that she heaved her body forward, turned, near falling onto her back, and used her feet to push herself back against the solid structure behind her. Once against it, she braced herself with both hands and feet, holding herself in position against any forces wishing to drag her away from her new safe haven, once again taking quick and shallow breaths. It was only when she was sure she was stable, that she wasn't moving, that she let her body relax, her head collapsing backward.
More breaths came, and where they had been short and fast, more panted gasps, they began to slow, to even out. In turn, the pressure that had been applied to her larynx, throat and chest lessened, the stomach acids that had been trying to expel themselves from her mouth dissipating. Her vision, although still swimming, began to clear, objects becoming solid, stable and unblurred. The faint feeling began to lessen, and her thoughts came a little more easily to her – but only a little. While she could remember who she was, memories of where she was and what it was she was doing still managed to remain elusive.
Princess Koriand'r looked down at her body, emerald gaze scanning her being for any visible damage, her mind starting to race. She was dressed in her flight uniform – a figure-hugging white suit, formed of various alien materials both flexible and durable. It was accented with blues and purples, her personal favourite shades, and equipped with a number of advanced technologies that aided the Tamaranean during deep space travel. Her brow furrowed. Her garments suggested she was in space, rather than on Earth – the planet she had come to call home. Yet she could not, as hard as she might have tried, remember as to why.
She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, and wrinkled her nose. Starfire had, upon waking on a strange planet months before, found herself struggling with her memory, haunted by nightmares that seemed too real to merely exist in her imagination. Her name had been familiar, but beyond that, people, faces and languages had been alien to her. She had not even realized the strange planet had been Earth. It was only through rigorous aid from former team mates that she was able to piece together some of her shattered psyche – and even then, much of what she had formerly assimilated had been lost. It was no surprise then that each time she struggled to recall events, fear and frustration gripped her, terrified of once again falling into the depths of forgetfulness she had experienced all too recently.
“Calm yourself, by X'hal. You are not aiding yourself, Koriand'r.” Her voice was nothing more than a whisper, quiet to even hear ears. But hearing the sound, listening to her own words – it did serve to calm her somewhat, reminded her that she was alive, that she had survived whatever it was that had put her in such a dire situation. If she could overcome such physical barriers, it was only a matter of time before she was able to overcome mental barriers.
Letting her eyelids flutter open, she glanced back down at her body, only this time for clues as to her whereabouts. It was only during this second examination that she caught the glimpse of a mechanical device strapped to her wrist – a small unassuming piece of equipment that – if she had recognized it correctly – gave her access to a portable control panel linked directly to whatever ship she had taken as her vessel. If she had chartered the craft, she would no doubt have requested the systems synchronized.
Reaching over, she slowly pressed a gloved fingertip to a nodule upon the wrist-mounted computer, and watched as a holographic screen sprung to life, deep purple light shining in her otherwise dank surroundings. “I cannot believe I did not notice the lights were out.” She scanned the first few lines – her title, Flight Lieutenant Princess Koriand'r, and her alias, Starfire. Raising the hand she'd used to initiate the device, she pressed her fingers against the screen, and scrolled down, eyes darting left and right as she rapidly assimilated information.
Everything flooded back to her. The name of the vessel was Javelin 8, a Justice League chartered ship, constructed and serviced at the Watchtower. Those aboard were all allies and members of the League, tasked with travelling to off-world sites in an attempt to provide aid to underdeveloped and threatened civilizations. While not a serving member of the society, Starfire had expressed a wish to aid them in future missions, hoping to return to her former duties as a Titan following her memory loss. Having served as a flight commander on Tamaran before it's destruction, and possessing the ability to learn alien languages at a touch, Starfire had been personally selected to act as an ambassador to the civilizations they were set to meet, her experiences and talents invaluable.
But it was clear that something had gone very, very wrong.
She dropped her hand back to her wrist, tapping the nodule next to the first she had pressed – activating a voice command function. “Javelin 8, run ship diagnostics.” Information started scrolling across her screen at an impossible rate, and she looked away from it, the speed dizzying. That done, she raised her hand to her left ear, to a small earpiece fitted neatly under her flowing auburn locks – standard issue communication links for any working upon space craft.
Pushing what she believed to be the broadcast button, she spoke as clearly as she could, hoping that if the system was still intact, her voice would reach any still conscious with a connected comm link. “This is Starfire of Javelin 8. Please, X'hal, let you all be unharmed.” The Tamaranean was still a little unsure of whom 'you' was – but she was sure she would find out soon enough.
