Rick Flag Jr.
[/b] come from behind him, down the hallway. There had been a lot of times that Rick had questioned Amanda Waller's decisions. While her goal and plans usually worked out, all in her favour of course, things rarely went off perfectly. That was why when Rick was given his current assignment, he was more hesitant than usual. Usually the operative would have backup in the form of Task Force X/Suicide Squad, but todays mission didn't call for it. Even with Rick's constant reservations about the people he was sent out with, backup was always preferred to going it alone, especially into the thick of things like he was tasked with.
Waller had given Rick the job of infiltrating a resurgent Kobra Cult base that had sprung up just outside of New York, and gathering what Intel he could on them. Get in, don't get spotted, gather what information he could, get out. That was the mission. Waller hadn't explained to Rick why she wanted him to go it alone, but Rick had come to expect little explanation from her. He had a job to do, and that was that.
As Rick was going it alone and was looking to not get spotted, he had ditched his usually orangish-yellow attire and had went for a more basic covert-ops dark blue, carrying with him only a single Beretta M9 and, hopefully, enough ammo. If everything went according to plan, Rick wouldn't need to fire a single round, but things always seemed to go awry in these sorts of situations.
Rick quietly stalked the perimeter of the seemingly small complex, noticing only a few guards at what seemed to be the only entrance. His eyes carefully scanned the rest of the area, looking for any sort of hidden entrance or large enough vents he could possibly crawl through. Noticing a faint glow from the opposite end of the complex, Rick quickly and silently moved in. Sure enough, the faint glow was coming from a hidden doorway, one that was clearly not concealed properly, as it was letting a small amount of light out. The door was a push door from the outside, a horrible idea for a base (as one from the inside would have to pull it open, leaving themselves exposed to potential gunfire), Rick mentally noted where he was for when he reported back to Waller. He slowly pushed the door open, peaking in as he did so. Noticing the room was a small monitoring room, his eyes quickly darted to the monitors. Only the interior and the main door seemed to be monitored, another glaring flaw of their design. If this really was Kobra springing back up, they really picked the worst base planners to reestablish themselves with.
Only one cultist was in the room, oblivious to the door silently opening behind him. Rick slowly crept in, before quickly grabbing the man and twisting his neck. He couldn't risk the cultist alerting anyone, and gunfire would have drawn too much attention. His hands were already, metaphorically, covered in blood, Rick had no issue getting them dirtier. Pushing the dead body out of the way, Rick now took a more careful look at the monitors. There weren't many, which meant this complex was quite small, or very horribly monitored. Given the labeling on the monitors, there were only five rooms worth watching, as well as the main entrance. Entrance, barracks, dining hall, armory, computer room, and a manufacturing area. Rick could care less about the first three rooms he saw, but he was interested in what was in the computer room and manufacturing area. It seemed they were on a lower level, but there also didn't seem to be many cultist wandering the halls. Thanks to the monitor in the barracks, Rick counted ten bed, with six occupied. Two people were out front, one was dead in this room, that left the tenth member, and Rick could see them wandering the manufacturing area; probably the person tasked with patrolling at night.
Again making a mental note of what he had found, Rick left through the adjoining door that lead from the monitoring room to the hallway. Easily finding the stair way, Rick once more quietly crept through the complex, quickly arriving at the dimly lit manufacturing room. Spotting the patrolling cultist, Rick stalked the opposite side of the woman, keeping an eye on whatever he could in the room. Unfortunately, the room gave no clues as to what was being worked on, but luckily, Rick had gotten to the computer room entrance with no issue. Slipping in, making as little noise as possible, Rick came across his first obstacle; the computer was password protected. Up until this point, none of the doors had been locked, the monitoring was very poor, and there were very few guarding this place. Rick had honestly, by this point, half expected the computer to just be left on whatever the cult was working on.
Rick was no computer expert, hacker, or anything of the sort, he was a soldier. He wasn't sure what Waller expected him to do if he came across any sort of encrypted data. Muttering to himself, Rick quickly typed in KOBRA, and fully to his surprise, the computer woke up. "You have got to be kidding me" he cursed under his breath. These were easily the worst and most pathetic group Rick had ever seen. Pulling out a USB stick, Rick did what he could to move over whatever information he was able to given his limited knowledge of what he was looking for. Once he had moved all the information he could, Rick left the room and noticed the cultist was nowhere near either. They had probably left to monitor the upstairs, so Rick would have to be careful while trying to leave.
Making his way to the stairs, and up them back to the hallway, he was almost in the clear. As he opened the door to the monitoring room, he heard a small huh?

"Hey, who are you? You aren't supposed to be here" the voice spoke out. Turning on his heel, Rick swiftly pulled out his trusty Beretta M9 and as he aimed it, the cultist called out. "KOBR-"BANG[/i]. Shot clear between the eyes, the cultists' dead body hit the ground. "Shut the Hell up" Rick muttered as his eyes shifted to the monitors, noticing the barracks beginning to stir. While Rick was sure he could take the few cultist here, given what he had seen so far, there was no need for such a pointless risk. He quickly made his way out the way he came in as shouts of KOBRA came from behind him.
"Waller, I've got what you wanted, get my evac ready, I'll be there in seven minutes, might be followed" Rick quickly ordered into his comm piece. If Waller was good for something, it was making sure the evac was ready when the mission was complete, and this mission was.[/span][/div][/div]
