Participants: Conner Kent and Bart Allen Open/Closed: Closed Location(s): Outer space, alien planets, various Time of Day: N/A Weather: N/A Summary: Two best friends wake up in a completely different solar system and knee-deep in unexplainable trouble. Together, they have to backtrack and figure out how they got there and, more importantly, how to get home...
"-old you, Ma: no more waff-" he cracked an eyelid, letting the stone ceiling above him slowly stop swimming, "-les?"
Conner blinked, hard, and when he opened his eyes again he groaned because holy crap his head hurt. He was laying down, he realized, and it was on something hard and definitely not bed-like. With another groan, he tried to sit upright, but the arm he used to prop himself up on wobbled instead. It collapsed and Conner went right along with it, hitting the ground. Except...
He lifted a hand to rub at the back of his scalp, where it'd hit the surface he was sprawled out on. "Ouch?" he said, quietly and to himself. Why...? Why had that hurt? Where was he? How'd he get there? Superboy blinked a few more times, trying to will the sharp stabbing in his head into something more dull and manageable. It didn't work. He gave up and, more cautiously this time, sat up.
Conner had been imprisoned enough times in his short life to recognize a cell at first sight. No matter what it was made of. In this case... He wasn't sure. Stone of some sort that, based on the bits poking out and the natural furrows in the walls, formed in hexagonal pillars. They were polished so smooth they gave off watery reflections, too. Only one side of the cell wasn't made of that, but rather than bars, a faint haze of light glittered in a paper-thin layer.
Superboy's head was still a bucket of ouch when he realized for the first time he wasn't alone. He looked down, quirking a disoriented eyebrow at the small, thin figure sprawled nearby. The costume was a dead give away, but Conner didn't have to put that into the investigation - one look at that mound of disheveled brown hair, and he knew who it was. "Bart!" Superboy surged forward, grunting at the pain the movement jolted through his scalp, but ignoring it. Something way more important than him had just come up.
"Bart, dude, are you okay?" Conner crawled on his knees until he was at Kid Flash's side and gingerly turned him over so that he wasn't face-down anymore. He stared urgently at the closed eyes on the other side of Bart's goggle lenses and held his breath.

I am normal. It's the rest of the world that's weird.

It wasn't every day that Bart awoke to Conner's face staring right down at him, practically caressed in his best friend's arms. Had he switched bodies with Tim or Cassie? He held his hands up. Nope, those looked like his hands. He felt his face - felt like his own. He blinked through his goggles, curiously staring up at the other teen before finally asking, "You didn't kiss me like Sleeping Beauty, did you?" He grinned and quickly - He never did anything slow - sat up before grimacing at the headache that inevitably followed. He had no doubt his accelerated healing would take care of it in no time but how he'd hurt his head in the first place evaded him. That in itself was enough to make him pause.
He didn't remember getting hit on the head. He looked around, taking in their surroundings. He didn't remember where they were. He didn't remember how they got here. He didn't remember.
Having an eidetic memory wasn't always a blessing. It meant he remembered quite vividly his knee shattering and even far more traumatizing events such as his own death. But having it also meant that when he couldn't remember something, it was often a dead giveaway that something had gone terribly wrong.
Bart got to his and turned to Conner, proceeding to poke at his face one too many times to not be annoying then poking at his own face before grinning. "Cool! We're both real!" he said as if that explained everything because in his mind it did. Being stuck in the middle of wherever was always better when one was stuck with a friend. Having also looked at his hands earlier and felt the goggles on his face, he already knew he was in costume so that narrowed the possibilities of what had happened down-- Well... Unless whoever had taken them had put them in their costumes. Rude.
"Y'know the other day when Tim was being, well, Tim," he started to explain, "And I said we could all use a vacation." He gestured around at the cell they were clearly in. "I didn't mean this. Like this isn't your idea of a vacation right? I'd hoped I taught you better." He grinned, trying to do what he was best at, making a concerning, confusing situation less so by acting as if it didn't bother him even though it very much did. "I don't even see a beach! What kind of vacation doesn't have a beach?!"

Bart's eyes fluttered open. The fabric of his mask crinkled in the way that Conner had learned a long, long time before meant his forehead underneath was pinching in confusion. The movement was a good sign, but still, Conner couldn't loosen the knot of panic in his chest. He threw all of his patience and self-control at giving Bart time to put pieces together. To not shake his best friend and try to get him to say something.
Kid Flash looked at his own hands, then back at Conner, who was still bent over him, not even trying to disguise how concerned he was. Then came the question. Superboy sighed - in relief, but an ounce of exasperation, and pinched the bridge of his nose while Bart sat up. "You'll never know, I guess, will you?" he said, but there wasn't a lot of spirit in it.
Conner's mind was buzzing. Now that Bart was okay, he could think of other things, like how they'd got here and where "here," was, exactly. His blue eyes shifted focus to the barrier of light boxing them in... Until a gloved finger jabbed him in the cheek a few times. Superboy looked dryly at the speedster attached, but Kid Flash being his normal self in the situation was kinda helping, so he wasn't actually annoyed.
Superboy's senses were still waking up, dim and jostled by the pain in his scalp. He stared at the walls around him and Bart, looking through them- "Aw, sh*t." Conner pushed off the ground, wobbly before he steadied. "No powers?" he asked, kinda himself, kinda Bart. He tried to hover - no go. He tried to let out some heat vision - nope! "No powers." Superboy grit his teeth and looked at Kid Flash for confirmation of what he already knew.
