Subject History
Roy G. Bivolo spent his whole life dreaming of being an amazing artist. Dedicating himself to learning the craft and mastering his skills, there was one fatal flaw...Roy was colorblind. His raw skills were excellent, but his monocolor vision would lead to his paintings having such eye gouging contrasting colors and wrong colorschemes, leading to him getting critically panned wherever he went. At his lowest point, Roy would be presented a pair of goggles created by his terminally ill father that were intended to cure his colorblindness. However the invention was incomplete and thus failed in it's goal of repairing Roy's sight. It did however, wind up having a variety of color and light based abilities unintended by his late father's design, and after some tweaking, The Rainbow Raider was born.
Lashing out due to his bitter outlook on the world, Roy would clash with several heroes over the years, most notably the Flash, but also coming across both Batman and Booster Gold on seperate occassions. His crimes mostly focused on robbing art galleries out of spite from both his disability and the lack of respect for his artwork, though admittedly giving him pause at depriving other of such artwork, and the occassional mission alongside the Rogues.
Roy's villainy would come to an end however when he picked a fight with the villainess Blacksmith, who used her powers to impale Roy with one of his own paintings, leaving him fallen and forgotten. That is until the undead hoards arrived...During Blackest Night Roy was revived as a Black Lantern, relishing how he could finally see the glory of colors in his black lantern form while trying to hunt down the Rogues, resulting in him and several other undead flash villains being frozen together and sent flying into a time vortex by Captain Cold.
This vortex however would be Bivolo's salvation, as the warping of space and time around his undead carcass ended up reviving the fallen rogue within the streets of Central City, ready to begin his reign of dazzling terror anew!
Subject Interview
A cold blue glow emanated it's way through an open window frame, creeping forth like an alien entity seeking it's latest victim. A cloak of cobalt engulfing art appraiser Edward Esther from the confines of his own home. His sanctuary away from the madness of his city. Or at least, that's what he had thought. Eyes shooting bloodshot from the wavelengths seeping into his brain, Edward would let out a shout of primal anguish, serenading the night sky with shrieks of horror. He was a ripoff. A failure. A rat within the walls of this city of thieves and metahumans. How long would he truly last? How long till he ended up as nothing more than the next casualty of war between the metahuman factions, or a careless splatter left in the wake of a yellow maniac. His eyes glazed towards the kitchen, knives glistening in the cyan calling card that shimmered across the walls. Shuffling like a zombie, a hand outstretched towards the cutlery.
Outside the bubble of blue, Roy G Bivolo watched with catharsis. To hold such folly so easily within his palm. The mistake of mocking the Rainbow Raider made clear. This is what he could do. The credit nobody would recognize. The power.....A sadistic smirk creeping ever so slightly upon his lips. All good things must come to an end however, the scowling sneer of a certain captain rearing it's ugly mug and forcing the artist to relent. In a sudden instant, the color, and the emotions therein, vanished in an instant. Edward dropping a knife in utter horror, only glimpsing a fading rainbow trail when he peered past the curtains as he was left to contemplate the utter madness that had just occured.
