Summary: A rainbow road zig zags across the universe for space pirates to pilfer and plunder to their heart’s content
Inside the hearts of man pumps the sin of greed. Since the dawn of evolution avarice has gripped the terrestrial world, fowl tendrils stretching far and wide. The length of greed knows no bounds, the colonial squid gripped the earth and dried the land. All the succulence this world has to offer has been drained, humans have dug into the skin of Mother Earth and stolen the calcium of gold and precious minerals. Digging deeper beyond the veil of dirt and rock man has bathed in planetary stomach bile, greasy water black as the cosmos coat our bodies and fill our machines. Earth has been claimed. Earth has been divided. This tribal humanity sprawling as far as our little rock allows. Now we must cast our gaze to the effervescent cradle above, the blanketing void of black above. Space, the final frontier. The brightest stars and the blackest night, grand and glorious beyond the scope of our limited human consciousness. Behold and beware o’ grand astronomical peaks, for the colonial squid comes to carve out the cosmos.
Divine though it may be, this fathomless void of cosmic black is not the intergalactic bastion of space. You are here, deep within the bowels of the Mirrorverse where no one can hear you scream. Where the ceaseless wheel of dusk and dawn do not simmer and the drowning blackness descends from infinite skies, but still inside the hearts of man pumps the sin of greed. Where the gleaming light of infinite reflections dance across an inky quilt black as death. The colonial squid has begun to coil around this eldritch world. A world of mirrors, all the universe’s reflective surfaces glinting like starlight in the void. With alien worlds, floating platforms of dead stone, and monstrous entities roaming fierce and free. Stare into the abyss and see the abyss glaring back as you soar through soul crushing emptiness.
It soared through infinite emptiness, dominating a field of black and glittering black. A drifting behemoth aimlessly gliding across a stream of refracted images. Wood helium and tarp clouding the blackened skies roaring over massive heights. The primitive monstrosities of various mirror worlds could only look on in awe and terror as the magnanimous leviathan soared over the clouds. Smog of white and grey parted way as a bowsprit drifted through the fog high above, followed by wooden bow which eclipsed their mirror sun and blanketed their glass earth in darkness. A massive galleon ship drifted through the cosmos, terrified herds of primitives scampering off like rats as they basked in its magnanimous horror. The galleon hung loosely from a towering zeppelin which soared through the air. The blimp was as black as the night sky, with twin searchlights glittering across the air. Hundreds of ropes cradled the galleon like an infant, rising high up into the zeppelin and coiling tightly around it like the tendrils of a cephalopod. The hull of the blimp had a golden badge printed into the tarp, with the name Gotham City Police Department written above the badge and To Protect and Serve below. However, the imposing vessel had graffiti riddled all across it... Gotham City Police Department had a sloppy X slashed across it with the new name Rogues Gallery strewn above it in colorful neon letters. The imposing and regal badge had a crudely drawn graffiti skull and crossbones slathered over it, the skull being colored a myriad of clashing neon splashes. As an extra attention to detail, the neon graffiti skull was wearing a fluffy parka hood and Eskimo glasses, and the crossbones were a wand with sparks and a boomerang. Beneath the badge the phrase To Protect and Serve was haphazardly slashed by spray paint, and beneath it multicolored ink sloppily spelt To Punish and Enslave.
The airship ensemble was manned and crewed by Mirror Masters and houses a myriad of ill gotten goods. Jewels and precious gemstones, gold and sculptures, paintings and expensive looking baubles, all sorts of swindled nick knacks thought to garnish a pretty penny. The plan was elegant in its simplicity. Mirror Master brought Trickster and Rainbow Raider into the Mirror Dimension. Roy was to simply fire a blast from his Prisma Goggles into one of the many floating mirrors, allowing it to ricochet infinitely across the dimension, allowing the group to pillage and raid various alien worlds with absurd speed and precision. The group ransacked pillaged and plundered to their hearts content, pilfering artifacts artistries and expensive baubles from dozens of defenseless and primitive races from across the various worlds. It was going so well, in fact, that there simply wasn’t enough room to carry all the junk on hand. A blimp was pirated from the GCPDdon’t ask how they got the galleon, and now the airship served as hub for them to drop off their ill gotten gains.... And if an alien world proved to rowdy to quickly pillage and swindle from? The airship would fly above their world and glass the surface with Trickster bombs.
The bow of the Rogues’ airship leered over the horizon of another mirror world. The mermaid figurehead pierced through the clouds, except like the zeppelin which roared above it, it too was graffitied. She was painted bright yellow with black eyes with tiny red retinas. Her ears were red lightning bolts, and she had a reverse lightning bolt painted on just beneath her nude breasts. The Mirror Masters in board steered the vessel, guarded the loot, and did various chores to maintain the vessel. The alpha Mirror Master, the real Evan McCulloch has originally been amongst the raiding party, but chose to remain behind to write up an inventory of the loot. ”Tha’s twenty spell books we pilfered?” Evan dresses the part for a swashbuckling space pirate... A massive green cape billowed behind him. It wrapped over his pectorals and had a massive collar which folded near his ears. The inside of the cape was actually an orange color, and fabric unitard he wore underneath was just his usual orange costume and green belt. ”Well, we think they’re spell books... But honestly? They just look fancy an’ go’ fancy words in ‘em” He wore a long pair of fingerless gloves which stretched up to his elbow, with spiked wristbands around his wrist on around his biceps. He wore green cowboy boots with mettle spurs which rattled with each step below deck. He marched into the captain’s quarters with an entourage of clones bedazzled in alien bling, copious amounts of pearls around his neck, golden bracelets and necklaces draping off his wrists and numerous wrings over both of his gloves. The captain’s quarters had a nice wooden table with a map of a few mirror worlds which was drawn up by Sam Scudder back in the day. There were a few X’s marking off locations they’d already raided and a frowny face over places they should steer clear of at all costs. There was nothing else in the room apart from pilfered goods, two gorgeous alien statues on opposite ends of the room and a mound of gold coins and riches at the back wall. A giddy Evan leapt into the pile and rolled around it’s contents like a pig in mud, a toothy grin stretched wide and proud as he hugged diamonds and crowns and lovely lovely baubles. One of his clones handed him a double cigarette holder crafted out of gold, on it were two lit cigars. Mirror Master took huff of the smoke with a wide grin
