Meta-Human Abilities: None
Standard Abilities:
- Ventriloquism: As his name would suggest, Wesker is incredibly skilled at throwing his voice around while making it seem like he isn't the one talking, as well as being able to mimic a variety of different voices and pitches.
- Mastermind: The Scarface part of Wesker's personality is a criminal mastermind, able to craft complex plots that have left even the bat stumped on occasion.
Paraphernalia:
The Scarface side of Wesker always comes prepared, carrying weapons on Arnold's person for his own use. Be it tommyguns, pistols, knives, or even explosives on occasion.
Subject Weaknesses:
- Truly split: Both Wesker and Scarface believe each other to be separate people, to the point they can be talked into distrusting each other, even to the point of Scarface trying to kill Wesker. despite being the same person.
- Short Temper: Scarface has a short fuse, and is prone to lashing out while Arnold meekly goes along with it
- Got no backbone: Wesker on his own is a sniveling wreck, afraid to do anything assertive in the slightest without his crutch in Scarface, thus Wesker can usually be pacified by taking Scarface away from him, or destroying the puppet
- Never wanted this life: Wesker disapproves of the crime he unknowingly partakes in himself, viewing himself as a coerced observer, thus he can sometimes be reasoned with to help put a stop to Scarface's capers.
Subject History
Arnold Wesker was a meek, and quiet man, even as a child. Born into a powerful crime family, Arnold's life would be forever changed when he witnessed the assassination of his mother by a rival gang, leading to the development of dissociative identity disorder, often channeled out through the use of his budding talent in ventriloquism. However this other side of Arnold would continue to establish dominance within Wesker's psyche as he got older, leading to it taking control in a bar brawl, resulting in Arnold murdering his opponent in an outburst of repressed horror. Horrified and regretful over his actions, Arnold would get sent to Blackgate Penitentiary, where he would meet the puppet that would haunt him for years to come.
Arnold's cellmate, a man by the name of Donnegan, just so happened to carve a ventriloquist dummy named Woody from the wood belonging to the old Blackgate gallows. Hearing the voices of "Woody" haunting his nightmares, Wesker was compelled to murder Donnegan and take the puppet for himself...Thus Scarface was born, Arnold's split mindset now having an outlet within the doll.
Yet a certain air of mystery would follow the Scarface dummy, having the same name and look as a deceased former gangster by the name of Scarface Scarelli, even copying some of his mannerisms. Was the puppet haunted? Was Wesker simply modeling his other self after the famous gangster? None can truly say.
After various bouts with Batman, Arnold would have another faithful encounter, this time within the walls of Arkham Asylum. Freed during a prison break orchestrated by Bane, Wesker was left aloof and lost without Scarface to guide him. Searching through the station, Arnold would encounter a handful of puppets before creating a sock puppet, aptly named Socko, that had the same aggressive dominance as Scarface, but instead of crime simply wanted to look out for Arnold and help him recover. Alas, once Scarface was brought back into the picture, a fight broke out between Socko and Scarface, the two puppets shooting eachother, which lead to Wesker being returned to Arkham with two wounded hands.
One day, after a particuarly bad earthquake hit Gotham, the stress of it caused Wesker to fall into the delusional belief that he was now a supervillain called Quakemaster, claiming to have created the earthquake and kidnapping a seismologist. He ransomed her safety and the threat of creating another earthquake for $100 million dollars, but was quickly taken down thanks to a combination of accidentally broadcasting his location thanks to the Seismologist giving him faulty info, and Robin coming to take him down. After this blunder Arnold had appeared dead with the Scarface puppet gallavanting around on it's own, but this all proved to be a hoax perpetrated by Scarface in order to distract Batman and lay low for awhile, having hired an actor to run around in a Scarface costume.
Wesker's biggest caper would be when he joined up with the Secret Society of Super Villains, though his tenure was short lived as when matched up against the hero Jade Canary, Wesker was incapacitated when she threw Scarface off the nearest rooftop. This would prove to be the beginning of the end however, as Scarface was murdered by the second Tally Man under the orders of The Great White Shark, Wesker showing his own willpower for the first time as he used his last moments to write down a clue about his killer for Batman to avenge him.
Wesker would return from the dead however during the black lantern invasion, attacking the GCPD with an army of Scarface constructs before Nekron was defeated for good. It seemed fate was on Wesker's side however, having been close enough to catch some residual energy from the revival of the White Lanterns, having been restored to life. Trying to be normal for the first time in his life, it wouldn't be too long before Wesker heard the chilling voice calling out to him at night...."Dummy....Dummy.....We gots ourselves some work to do!"
Subject Interview
"So lemme' get this straight Bartholomew, ya come in under my roof, on my turf, and thought I won't notice ya poking yer ugly mug around my confidential plans eh?" Came the gruff, thuggish voice of Scarface, wooden hands weakly grasping against Bartholomew's collar, the scrawny man quaking regardless.
"T-take it easy now Mr Scarface, I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it-" Wesker meakly pleaded, his softspoken tone overshadowed by a bombastic outrage from his perturped puppet.
"DID I ASK FOR YER OPINION DUMMY?!" Yelled Scarface at the top of his lungs, smacking his hollow dome against Wesker's forehead with an audible clunk, causing Arnold to rub his temple in pain.
"S-sorry sir, won't happen again."
"Now that's bettah! Back to business." As Scarface turned back to the terrified minion, the smoke of Scarface's cigar close enough to singe his nosehairs. "Who ya workin' for....Birdbrain...Halfo....the clown?! Huh?! Better speak up if ya know what's good fer ya!" Demanded the wooden mafioso, leaning forward once more just long enough to smother the tip of his cigar against Bartholomew's forehead, leading to a yelp and a sizzling scorch mark.
"I-I honestly wasn't up to anything! Really Mr Scarface! C-come on Wesker, you aren't really gonna-"
As a thundering slam rattled the table, knocking a nearby glass of brandy onto the ground into a pile of shards. "WHAT ARE YOU ADDRESSING HIM FOR HUH?! I'M THE ONE IN CHARGE HERE! RHINO! MUGSY! COME GIVE THIS LITTLE RAT A NEW PAIR OF CONCRETE FOOTWEAR, THEN TOSS HIM INTO GOTHAM HARBOR!"
As the two enforcers dragged Bartholomew away, a series of sobs and pleads for forgiveness ringing out against deaf ears before the warehouse slammed shut once more, Wesker hanging his head solemnly at the man's fate.
"Y-you know we aren't going to have any workers left if you keep this up boss..."
"Shut up Dummy."
"Yes sir."
