Participants: Tsaritsa & Lois Lane Open/Closed: Closed Location(s): Metropolis and Time of Day: Mid-Afternoon Weather: Sunny Summary: Tsaritsa once tested "Prince Charming" to see if she was worthy of him. Now she plans to test Lois to see if she is worth of "Charming."
It had been some time since Tsaritsa had last set foot in this unconventional kingdom Charming ruled over yet, for someone as ageless as she, it seemed only moments ago. Much had changed in the world since she had first been released from her leather-bound confinement, and yet, everything here looked very much the same as last time she had visited. In Tsarita’s mind there was “then” and “now” and she was still adjusting to the “now” in many ways. Even a larger alteration to this place would likely have escaped her notice.
She didn’t think she would ever understand why these peasants chose to live the way they did. The peasantry’s garb was much more drab and plain than anything they would have worn to court back in her day and there were just so many more people about. Like a plague of locusts that would never die always stepping on each other and getting in her way. Forests harboring dark untold secrets where nothing but memories in a place like this where buildings and metal constructs reached high toward the sky.
She longed to reach out with her powers, let them flow over this cold steel city and reshape it as she willed. But now was not the time for such a flamboyant show of power. The last time she had unleashed her powers like that she’d ended up imprisoned once more and though she had escaped, she was not looking to find out if her enemies had found a more effective containment vessel.
Tsaritsa looked up at the tacky yet easily identifiable orb erected on top of the Daily Planet. Why Charming would stoop to working like some peasant when his powers should have him worshiped as a god was beyond Tsarita’s understanding. Perhaps it was that little reporter woman of his that had poisoned his mind against reaching his true potential in this world. She scoffed. The very idea that Prince Charming would want to be with some commonor when he could have a queen was ludicrous. Absolutely absurd.
Cloaked in illusion- disguised as one of the peasants she abhorred- Tsaritsa made her way through the lobby and to the elevators of the Planet. Some of these modern conveniences were quite a marvel though it was nothing that magic in the hands of a great sorceress couldn’t replicate. She didn’t need to look at a map or ask directions to her destination, she’d been there before to test Charming’s mettle and worth to court her.
Though he had in fact proven worthy, he’d pleaded that he already had given his heart to another and could never be hers. The look in his eyes had sickened her. Tsaritsa wasn’t sure she even wanted to face him again just yet. But just as she had tested her beloved prince, this woman he claimed to love- if she was still alive- should also be tested. For isn’t that how it must always play out in the stories? Would she love him enough to endure Tsarita’s trials?
Tsaritsa weaved between the desks with ease. It seemed that Charming was not here for the moment. It was just as well. He would try to interfere and that would not do. When she located her objective, Tsaritsa perched herself delicately on the edge of the desk, “Good afternoon, Lois of Metropolis. I am Tsaritsa and I would have words with you.”
