Subject History
Sidekick to Green Arrow for much of his young teenage years, Roy Harper would dawn a red and yellow suit and take the name Speedy and join Oliver on his many journeys . Through many years of training and adventure, Roy would find himself joining other teenage heroes in forming the Teen Titans. While in the Teen Titans, spending most of his teenage years with the team, Roy became close friends with Dick Grayson, as well as Donna Troy, the latter and him becoming a semi-serious couple. His good times were not to last, however, as the Teen Titans spread apart, himself and Donna's relationship failing, and his parental figures in Ollie and Dinah leaving to travel America, Roy feel in to some dark and tumultuous times. It was during these dark times Roy developed his addiction, but eventually kicked out after Ollie refused to help him. Despite recovering and helping to reform the Teen Titans, his relationship with Ollie, for the moment, was ruined, and the reformed team was not to last.
With his life teetering on collapse once more, Roy was offered a job with the government in helping to deal with drug trafficking and terrorism. It was during this time that Roy learned to use more than just a bow, taking rigorous amounts of firearms training as well as training in undercover work. It was during this time that Roy was sent undercover to gain the trust of notable mercenary Jade Nguyen, also known as Cheshire. While charged with gaining her trust and eventually turning her in, Roy and Jade had an affair. Unable to bring himself to bring her in and worrying his presence could bring her harm, as well as her disregard for life, lead Roy to leave her. Unbeknownst to Roy, he left Jade pregnant with his child. Roy did, however, find out about Jade and his daughter, Lian. Once he had found out about her, with the help of Nightwing, was able to track Jade and Lian down. After finding himself poisoned by Cheshire, and saved by Dick, Roy found himself a single father in the care of Lian.
For the next while in his life, Roy took time to work alongside the Titans and the government. Roy eventually switched from the Speedy identity to Arsenal and it was during this time that Roy and Oliver re-opened dialog. Forgiving one-another, the two were able to work past their past discretions. Alongside this, while working with the Titans once more, Roy and Donna tried again to rekindle their relationship. Failing to do so, the two just attempted to keep their friendship in tack.
After Donna was killed in a fight against a Superman robot, Roy tried to distract his mind with another team. This time forming the Outsiders, Roy tried to avoid the family dynamic his other teams had focused on. The team functioned well, and even survived as Roy found himself shot in the chest and went under the leadership of Huntress. During a mission to rescue Black Lightning, Roy came to terms with the fact the cloak and dagger type of heroic life wasn't ideal for him. Roy handed over control of the group to his good friend Nightwing, and eventually took a spot in the Justice League and taking the name Red Arrow. During this time, Roy and Kendra Saunders began a relationship. This, like many of Roy's other relations did not last, and Roy soon left the League.
As the murderous supervillain Prometheus came to light, Roy found himself back on the Justice League, only to soon be savagely beaten and lose an arm. At this time as well, Star City is soon mostly destroyed, and Roy's daughter Lian is killed in the same event. With a robotic arm, numerous emotional breakdowns and countless delusions, Roy once more falls back into his addictions. Attempting to be consoled by his friends, as well as finding himself on a volatile relation with Cheshire, Roy failed to come to grips with where his life had ended up. Haze after haze, Roy is soon beaten easily by Dick Grayson and shoved into rehab. Eventually escaping, Roy found some of Prometheus' accomplices and horribly butchered them. Now in his darkest place, Roy joined with Jade and Deathstroke in a new villainous version of of the Titans. After being promised a chance to bring his daughter back, and seeing his Titan friends try to come to his aid, Roy came to terms with what had happened in his past. Realizing he was not at fault for Lian's death, and that she was in a better place, Roy rejoined with his old team in order to take down Jade and Slade.
Subject Interview
Nights like this were what Roy liked. The city was covered in a light misty fog as a the air was filled with small droplets of water. It was cool to the skin and it lightly obscured the countless lights that covered Star City. The cool air, light mist, and gentle breeze were calming. It was almost peaceful. Even the occasional car horn blaring in the distance didn't break the serene mood. It was truly the perfect night to keep an eye on Star City.
His feet tapped lightly, almost silently, as he darted over the small, few-stories tall, apartment complexes. The faint thumps of his feet were matched with the soft taps of his quiver and bow bouncing ever so gently against his back as he ran. Silence took hold for a brief second as he leapt from one rooftop to another with his landing only briefly offering sound. He was cautious not to make too much of an impact or noise, as he was currently tracking a small group of thugs who had previously shaken down a small corner store owner for some money. Sure it wasn't some world ending threat, or a mass murderer, but that didn't matter to Roy. Everyone deserved to be protected, and he'd help as many people as he possibly could.
A few more minutes passed, the young vigilante still darting around the rooftops, before he finally arrived at his destination. Through his connections, he had heard of a small and seedy club the thugs frequented. Club Phreak! A very unoriginal name, in Roy's opinion, especially given the ph instead of the f they used for freak. Given what he had heard, these thugs not only frequented this establishment, but so did an up-and-coming drug lord. This would be a great 2-for-1 night if both the thugs and the drug lord were here. If not, Roy would at least be able to extract some information from those inside.
Noticing a big and burly back entrance bouncer, Roy leapt off the side of the building and drove both of his knees into the mans shoulders. The man buckled slightly and Roy then pushed off of him, landing gracefully in front of the bigger individual. "Nothing personal" Roy commented before delivering two swift fists to the man and knocking him out. He silently stepped over the limp body of the unconscious man and drew his bow and a special flashbang arrow out. He quietly pushed the back door open and moved quickly and unseen. He peered around and found a good number of people in the club, including the three thugs who had hit the store and one more rotund individual who matched the description of the new drug lord. Roy gritted his teeth and fired out the flashbang arrow out. Quickly dropping to his knees, the arrow erupted in the middle of the crowd, a blinding flash of light taking over the dark room. "Everyone freeze" Roy called out. He knew this would get people in a panic, and given the chaos of being temporarily blinded by the flashbang, Roy figured he had a moment to act before the thugs and the drug lord would be able to react in kind.
During the screams of the club goers, Roy darted in and fired out two quick arrows to two of the three thugs. Connecting to one of each of their feet, the two men fell to the ground in pain. A third arrow flew out, this one being a net arrow. This arrow erupted before connected to the third thug, entangling him and he hit the ground hard. Running forward to the men who had the arrows in their feet, Roy delivered two swift kicks to their temples, knocking them out as well before spinning and pointing an arrow to the drug lord. The rotund man had now gotten up and had started toward the door when the blindingness of the flashbang began to subside, only to have an arrow whiz by his face and nick his cheek before it embedded itself into the door directly in front of him. "Don't move, scum. Don't say a word"
The drug lord raised both hands and slowly turned to face Roy, smirking. "Oh co-"
Before another word could be stated, Roy fired out another arrow, this one opening before hitting the man and encased his mouth in glue-like substance. "I said don't say a word" Roy's eyes narrowed, the club was now empty besides the three unconscious thugs, the drug lord and himself. He was tempted to end this filth of a human life right here and right now, but he didn't. Instead, another trick arrow was drawn out, the end of it notched against the thread of the bow. "I should end you right here, right now...but that's..." Roy didn't finish his sentence. Instead the arrow released and as it flew through the air, the tip opened. The tip of the arrow was replaced by the very iconic boxing glove and it smashed into the drug lords face. The man stumbled backwards and hit his head against the door before he fell to the ground, also unconscious.
After a brief pause, Roy tapped a spot on his suit, alerting the nearest officers of his location. "Ya, this is Arsenal, Club Phreak! Drug lord hide out, him and some crooks are all knocked out. Right, I'll keep an eye on them until you guys get here so none of them escape. Hurry up though, I promised Nightwing I wouldn't miss another Poker night"
