I'm gonna have to play this rough. There's no time for words. I gotta go Eastwood on everybody.

Kyle was late. It wasn't rare but it also wasn't common for the young Green Lantern. Thankfully his history with the Justice League probably gave him some leeway and made any tardiness on his part easier to forgive. That and the fact that he also had an entire sector to patrol, though that wasn't really much of an excuse considering how fast his ring allowed him to fly. Truth be told, he'd lost track of time catching up with and aiding Connor Hawke. They'd been knee deep in shenanigans that typically unfolded when the two of them got together. It wasn't until they were halfway through a meal at some random diner, fully in costume, that Connor had looked at him quizzically.
"Don't you have a Justice League meeting today?"
Kyle had shrugged and swallowed the bite of burger he'd taken. "I still have an hour until then."
Connor had arched a brow. "You said that an hour ago."
According to the diner clock, his best friend was right. He hated leaving Connor with the bill, especially considering hanging out had been his idea but despite being a monk, Connor was also the son of Oliver Queen and Kyle was fully aware that he probably had far more money than some freelance artist. That and being the generous friend that he was - that Kyle probably didn't deserve in this moment - Connor had offered to handle the bill. He flew out of the door, quite literally, making sure to give the waiter a wink and compliment on the service on his way out.
- - - - -
He landed in one of the docking bays of the Watchtower, went to check his watch only to remember he didn't have one and then pushed off, flying until he reached the correct room, where he landed softly and gave a grin and fistbump to Ferdinand. A minotaur was, after all, the least strange thing he'd seen since becoming a Green Lantern. He noticed Ryan in civvies and shrugged, his costume disappearing, replaced by civilian clothes, back into his ring.
A smudge of charcoal appeared on his cheek. His costume was replaced with worn blue jeans, holes in the knees and paint splattered randomly on them, and a white t-shirt with random paint splattered as well and scuffed sneakers lazily tied. What? He'd been working on a very large painting - accidentally knelt in said paint far too many times - before he'd gotten the idea to drag Connor out on shenanigans.
"Sorry I'm late," he said, sincerely but casually because he'd long stopped being that nervous around his fellow Leaguers. They were closer to friends in his eyes by now than intimidating colleagues. Well... Bruce was still intimidating but he was pretty sure that was just a Bat thing. He noticed the brownies and quickly snatched one, plopping it into his mouth. "Mm!" He gave The Atom a thumbs up, assuming he'd made the brownies, as he finished it and the continued with his apology, "Green Arrow - Connor--" He assumed he needed to clarify since Oliver was back from the dead. Connor was still his favorite Arrow. "Needed help with a case."
It wasn't a lie - He didn't think he needed to lie. He just left out the part about the case being dragging Connor out to have some actual fun and lighten up, albeit in costume, because he didn't think that was all that relevant.
"Hope I didn't miss much?"

Koriand’r happily chewed on the brownie she’d taken from Choi’s plate, and shook her head at him when he responded to her compliment with thanks, calling her ‘Miss Starfire’ in the process. “Kory,” she prompted, “We are friends, so we do not use codenames.” If Ryan had assumed them anything other than acquaintances, having only worked together once, seemed to be of no importance to the former Teen Titan. As far as the Tamaranean was concerned, their one mission together in Earth’s orbit was more than enough to cement their friendship. She nudged him when he quickly re-aligned the atoms on his suit to match the more ‘heroic’ attires of the others present. Then, a warm, encouraging smile followed. “You did not need to change. It is not bad to be different, or to stand out.”
When their conversation continued to standard 'event' dress, Koriand'r shrugged. She too was unsure of the protocol of League gatherings, but wasn’t overly concerned either. In truth, she doubted any of the heroes present would mind what attire was worn, so long as whoever wearing it had arrived at the Watchtower with the League’s best interest at heart. “I have been part of many teams, and worked with many members of the Justice League. However, this is my first time acting on their roster.” She beamed. “I am truly excited.”
Starfire waved at both Kal, who greeted her, and a Lantern when he arrived later than most others, quickly changing into ripped jeans, a paint-splattered t-shirt, and lazily tied sneakers. She tilted her head, looking between Ryan and Kyle as if to say ‘You see?’ to the formerly uneasy Atom. “We are just glad you have made it,” she said in response to the Lantern’s apology, her tone cheery and comforting. Then, she moved to take a seat, opting for a chair close to Superman, ready for Diana's call to order.
