Subject Attributes
Meta-Human Abilities:
Altered Physiology: While working alongside her father, Deathstroke, Rose underwent a number of procedures that stimulated her physiology, altering hormonal balance and the way her muscles and mind function. While these procedures temporarily caused her to suffer from episodes of psychosis, her body has since acclimatised and the negative effects of the experiment have significantly lessened, though her mind and body remain permanently altered and enhanced. Indeed, prior to Deathstroke's interference, Rose showcased the ability to forsee possible futures (notably, her father's) - hinting at the possibility that Wade's work only heightened gifts she already possessed. She is capable of the following superhuman feats:
Eidetic Memory and Kinesthesia: Rose is capable of recalling most everything she's ever experienced or learned, instantly, without human pause for thought. This in turn allows her to view the physical movements of others (the experience) and then recall them perfectly herself, mimicking them with incredible precision. As such, Rose is highly skilled both in and out of combat, not forgetting any lesson taught nor skill learned.
Enhanced Human Conditioning: Deathstroke's serum granted Rose heightened durability, strength, speed, stamina, agility and reflexes. While these enhancements are not to the level of many metahumans, she frequently showcases feats greater than any human can muster.
Regenration: Her father's tampering gifted Rose a regenrative healing factor, allowing her to quickly recover from wounds. While the effects aren't instant, she can rapidly recover from small cuts and scrapes in a matter of hours, and can survive and heal seemingly life threatening wounds in days.
Probability Cognition: Rose's mind instinctivly and intuitively catalogues an infinite number of details and information in any given situation, assembling collected data into accurate probability assessments, allowing her to perceive the likelihood of certain events happening. Using said ability, Rose subconsciously plans, analyses and acts with absolute efficiency, seemingly executing the optimal solution to a given problem. When under the affects of adrenaline, this gift is further heightned, allowing her to piece together events beyond the immediate, providing her an almost precognitive sense to glean further futures.
Standard Abilities:
Martial Artist: Rose has been tutored in varying styles of martial arts and close quarters combat by both Deathstroke and Nightwing. To say she is 'proficient' would be an understatement: she is an incredibly skilled fighter, capable of holding her own against even Gotham's vigilantes.
Weapons Training: Through the aforementioned tutelage, Rose is proficient with a number of weapons, from swords to firearms. The mark of Dick Grayson's teaching is especially prevalent in this area, most notably in her preference dual weilding close quarters weaponry.
Stealth: While not one to shy away from a fight, Rose is skilled in the art of espionage.
Paraphernalia:
Ravager attire: Designed with her father's suit in mind, Rose's Ravager attire is simple and lightweight, with added protection in the form of 'chainmail-esque' plating around her arms and upper torso.
Energy katanas: While Rose once tended toward classic swords, her work with the Titans has caused her to opt for a less lethal alternative. As such, she carries 'energy katanas' - swords that look and function as a regular blade would, but are designed to cut through near any material other than flesh, where upon they become blunted bludgeoning tools.
Arsenal: Rose also carries pistols with non-lethal ammunition (rubber bullets and the like), and a Titans' communicator.
Subject Weaknesses:
Mortality: Despite her enhanced healing factor, Rose is mortal and thus suffers from many of the weaknesses that entails.
Deathstroke: Rose has an incredibly toxic relationship with her father, and she has come to outwardly despise him. However, he also maintains a strange hold over her, and while she would never actively work alongside him, she struggles to witness him in pain, and would likely rush to his defense if his life was threatened. He, in turn, often seeks Rose out in order to 'test' her, inevitably putting her friends and those she cares about in danger.
Psychosis: Though the negative effects of Wade's serum have mostly subsided, Rose still fears succumbing to bouts of psychosis, as she knows her mental state is prone to such episodes - something a telepath or master manipulator may well use to their advantage.
Precognitive Accuracy: While Rose's precognitive gifts are incredibly accurate, they are not always perfect. When dealing with 'unknown' elements (magic, races from other planets etc), her mind can only apply so much certainty to situations, thus affecting the accuracy of her eventual prediction (usually negatively).
Physical Limitation: Rose is capable of mimicking the muscle movements of others perfectly - so long as it is a movement she is humanly capable of making. Copying the actions of other races (especially extraterrestrials) can be impossible simply due to her lacking the correct musculature and appendages.
Adrenaline Addiction: Thanks to the machinations of Clock King, Rose has an unhealthy predilection toward adrenaline. While under its influence, her precognitive sense is heightened, though her metabolism is unbalanced, straining her health and increasing the likelihood of psychotic episodes.
Loss of Vision: Though Rose is used to having one eye and her body and brain have adjusted accordingly, she can, when tired, daze or intoxicated suffer a loss of depth perception.
Subject History
Rose is the daughter of Slade Wilson – the mercenary better known as Deathstroke – and Lilian Worth, the Cambodian headmistress of a Siem Pang Wat Bordello. They encountered one another on a search-and-rescue mission, years after Wilson's divorce from Adeline Kane. Slade's mission was simple – ensure 'Sweet Lili' escaped war-torn Cambodia to the relative safety of Thailand. During their escape and subsequent border crossing, Slade and Lili struck up a brief, passionate relationship that led to Rose's conception. Parting ways once his mission was complete, Deathstroke didn't learn of his daughter's existence for years after her birth, Lilian keeping the child a secret, believing it was in Rose's best interests.
After years of upheval and travel, Lilian eventually settled down in New York City, living in and working out of a brothel. It was during this period her path crossed with Wilson again, Lili taking him in when injured, nursing his wounds. Wintergreen, visiting Deathstroke during his recovery, discovered the 14-year old Rose and came to suspect she was Slade's daughter.
His suspicions were proved accurate.
Years later, Deathstroke's half-brother, Wade LaFarge, using the misnomer 'Ravager', partook in a killing spree, aiming to kill Slade's friends and family. LaFarge discovered Rose, captured her, and revealed her true parentage. Wintergreen and Lili attempted a rescue mission, but Lilian seemingly lost her life – plummeting off a cliff while trying to run Wade down in a jeep. Wintergreen, however, was able to save Rose. Despite attempts to reach out to her father following the incident, having no immediate family, Rose was constantly rebuffed by her father, who had come to fear for her safety following La Farge's interference in her life, while also believing himself responsible for the death of his sons.
Deathstroke left Rose in the care of the Titans. During this time, a training exercise saw Rose injured and rushed to hospital, and the incident caused her precognative gifts to emerge for the first time, experiencing a lengthy vision of Slade Wilson's future. She awakened soon after, and left the Titans in due course. She did not see the team again until she allied herself with them in order to save Cyborg during the Technis Imperium conflict.
Settling in Chicago, Rose entered the care of the Madison family, whom she lived with for a number of months. However, Deathstroke's views upon his relationship with his child had changed, and in a complicated plan to bring his daughter back into his life, hired LaFarge (who had ended his feud with Slade) to kill her. The attempt saw the Madison family murdered, but before Wade was able to kill Rose, the Titan's intervened, tipped of by Deathstroke. A brief skirmish broke out, but an explosion of halothane gas soon ended the fight, rendering all present (Rose included) unconscious.
When she next awoke, she found herself in Deathstroke's lair. There, Wade apologised for abandoning his daughter, desperate to connect with his only remaining family. Deathstroke offered to tutor and mentor Rose, taking her on as his apprentice, while promising her revenge on LaFarge for the loss of Lili and the Madisons. Rose accepted, and took the name Ravager for herself.
The pair worked together for a number of months following their reconnection, Rose a focused student. During this time, Wade injected his daughter with the same serum that had been used to empower him years before, and while it successfully replicated his abilities, also caused Rose to suffer bouts of psychosis. These episodes culminated in Rose gouging out her own eye in a desperate attempt to emulate her father and prove her loyalty to him, her 'aptitude' for the role questioned when she was unable to kill her half-brother, Jericho.
As they continued to work together, Ravager suffered defeat at the hands of Batgirl (Cassandra Cain), and Deathstroke pushed for Rose to be tutored by Nightwing, who, at that point in his career, had retired from active heroic duty. Nightwing agreed to tutor her, hoping that in doing so he could instill in her a desire for a better life. Toward the end of their partnership, Wade planned to test Grayson's loyalty to him and his daughter, and replaced Rose's missing eye with a kryptonite one, before pitting her against Superman. During her attempt on the Kryptonian's life, Nightwing revealed that the kryptonite eye would eventually kill her too, leading to a drawn out and painful death as it poisoned her. Removing it, an enraged Rose fled, breaking all ties with her father due to his betrayal.
One year later, following the emergence and eventual defeat of Alexander Luthor Jr – Superboy Prime – Rose had joined the Teen Titans, admitted by Robin as a favour to Nightwing. Though she often referred to herself as a 'good girl' and showcased herself as a redeemed character, she was still the most violent member on the team, and often struggled reigning in antisocial tendencies, leading to a number of arguments with her allies. However, comparitively, with the negative side effects of Deathstroke's serum gone, she exhibited much less in the way of psychosis.
Despite numerous conflicts with female members of the Teen Titans, Rose managed to find some form of friendship with Kid Devil, whom she defended on a number of occasions, and made threats against those she felt would cause him harm. With him acting as her confidant, Wilson admitted she was afraid of being kicked off the team, and even more so of her father finding her.
During her time as a Teen Titan, Rose found herself a target of the 'Terror Titans', who ambushed her and nearly succeeded in killing her. After the event, she agreed to 'leave' the Teen Titans in order to infiltrate the shadowy parallel, hoping to learn more about their operations. It was in doing so she found herself working alongside Clock King – training metahumans for his 'Dark Side Club' fighting ring – and became addicted to adrenaline, finding it aided her precognative abilites.
Eventually, with Rose and Miss Martian's help, the Terror Titans were defeated and the Dark Side Club shut down. Rejoining the Titans for a brief stint, Rose eventually found frictions continued to exist between her and other members, and she took the passing of Kid Devil harder than most. After an altercation with Bombshell, staged to test her loyalty to the team, Rose left in order to find her own way of life.
During the rise of the Black Lanterns, Rose and Deathstroke, the latter of which Ravager had tracked down and attacked, were set upon by reanimated corpses of their extended family: Wintergreen, LaFarge, Grant Wilson and Adeline Kane. Rose, despite her hatred of Deathstroke, stepped in to save her father on a number of occasions, and it was revealed that Jericho had taken over Wade's person. Using his gifts, he turned the Black Lanterns against themselves, destroying them in the process.
Though she came to realise she had a deep-seated and daughterly love for her father, Rose refused to forgive him for what he had done to her over the years, and she left him in order to search for her mother who she noted was not among the Black Lanterns – suggesting she might still be alive. Rejoining the Titans at Wonder Girl's invitation, she is currently making extensive use of their resources in order to locate Lilian Worth.
Subject Interview
She sat slouched on a leather swivel chair, legs draped haphazardly over one arm. The room's only light came from a large computer screen – so broad that it filled her vision. In its upper right corner, it displayed a digital picture of Lilian Worth; the only image that remained constant. The rest of the screen was taken up with a topographical map of North America, and ever-changing rows of faces. Each new face was displayed for little more than a second before vanishing, the machine analysing facial similarities between 'Sweet Lili' and every female citizen in databases it had access to. That just so happened to be 'all of them'.
There were, it seemed, some benefits to being a Teen Titan.
It had been a painstaking process, scouring the globe for any sign of her mother, with no confirmation that she was even alive – all she had to go off was a gut feeling. Rose hadn't seen her in years, Lilian presumed dead at the hands of the first Ravager, a misnomer she now bore. She'd never thought to question it, never thought her father might have been mistaken, until the past quite literally came back to bite her.
Under the Black Lanterns' light, family corpses long laid to rest had risen to drag those still living down into the dirt to join them. What remained of her brothers, uncle and step mother – even her father's former butler – had set upon Rose and Wade Wilson. But Lilian Worth was not among them, and Rose didn't believe it a coincidence. If her mother was dead, she would have been there, playing on the guilt of her surviving family just like the other reanimated.
However, her search had turned up nothing – even utilising the vast resources available to her. Every night that she'd been able, she had sat in the Titans' tower war room, staring at the computer within, doing her best impression of Tim Drake in the bat cave. She'd analysed imaging from satellites around the globe, looked through databases across every continent, and run weekly searches targeting the area Rose had last seen her mother all those years ago.
If Lilian Worth was alive and well, she most certainly didn't want to be found.
Stifling a yawn, Rose raised a hand to rub her eye, then let it drop into her lap, shaking her head a little as, one by one, the rows of female faces blinked off the display. They were replaced with the words 'NO MATCH' – capitalised and written in red, highlighting another night of failure. With a small, frustrated sigh, she leant forward, reaching out to the keyboard infront of her to cancel the search program.
As she did so, she caught sight of herself, her face reflected in the computer's screen. She stared at her mirror image for a long moment, unflinching. There was once a time she might have turned away, not wanting to see the patch over her left eye, disgusted by what it represented – an homage to a father she idolised and hated in equal measure, and the mental toil he caused in her. Now, though, she could at least stomach the sight of herself. The patch had come to represent everything she wasn't, and while she wasn't always sure what she was, she was certain of at least one thing: Rose Wilson was not her father, no matter how much she looked like him.
She held her own gaze for a few seconds more, before reaching over and hitting the 'ESC' key, plunging the room into total darkness. “I need a coffee...” she muttered under her breath, swivelling her chair away from the computer and raising gracefully to her feet.
