Subject Attributes
Meta-Human Abilities: All of Amon's meta-human abilities are a portion of Black Adam's own and come to him when he says "Black Adam."
- S for the Stamina of Shu: While not invulnerable, this helps Amon withstand most types of attacks. He also doesn't need to eat or breathe in order to survive and is also capable of surviving all by himself in space.
- H for the Swiftness of Hero: He can fly at supersonic speed as well as run a steady pace at superhuman speeds.
- A for the Strength of Amon: He's able to lift at least one-hundred tons. He's been shown to bend steel, punch through walls, and lift massive objects with ease.
- Z for the Wisdom of Zehuti: Though it may not seem like he uses it, he has instant access to a vast level of knowledge, specifically scholarly. This also grants him the ability of clairvoyance and, should he call for it, advice and counsel when he needs it.
- A for the Power of Aton: This is the magic-based part of his abilities. It fuels the bolt of lightning that transforms him into Osiris, and thus causes the enhancing of his other physical attributes when he's transformed.
- Magic Lightning: He's able to use the lightning as a weapon by dodging it and allowing it to strike someone else. He also learned from Black Adam how to direct a blast of lightning.
- M for the Courage of Mehen: This ability is more psychological than the others. This makes sure he has a large amount of inner strength that he can draw on when he needs to. When he draws on this strength, he becomes indestructible. However he's unable to constantly draw on this strength and be indestructible all the time. Even this power has its limits.
Standard Abilities:
- Multilingual: Amon is fluent in English as well as the various languages found throughout Egypt.
Paraphernalia: N/A
Subject Weaknesses:
- Vulnerability to Magic: Though his powers come from magic, Amon is not immune to it. In fact he's specifically vulnerable to the magic of other Marvels. Any Marvel could grab him, say their phrase, and transform him from Osiris to Amon (or vice versa) by having their lightning hit him instead.
- PTSD: He still gets nightmares, flashbacks, and has some triggers when it comes to the memories of those he's killed - especially his first time killing someone - and Sobek's betrayal which left him dead. This can also cause him to become unstable, angry, terrified or unable to do anything when his PTSD is triggered.
- Unguided: He makes a lot of mistakes and bad decisions due to a lack of guidance from a parental figure or mentor. He flourished while under Black Adam's guidance but suffered after coming back from the dead and finding both Adrianna and Black Adam dead with no one there to guide him and teach him.
- Lonely: After being killed by Sobek, who he'd thought was his best friend, he's been left with no friends, only his family to keep him company. As much as he adores his family, he still longs for friends and thinking about how he doesn't have any can cause him to get depressed, angry, and even uncaring toward what is going on around him.
- Anything for Family: He'd do anything for his family, especially his sister, Adrianna. This includes compromising his morals on multiple occasions, including killing people. It also means his family can be used to manipulate him, as Slade Wilson did.
- Just a Portion: Having only a portion of Black Adam's power means he's not as strong or durable as him. While he can still take more than the average human, he's also more vulnerable to injury than other Marvels such as Black Adam and Captain Marvel.
Subject History
Amon grew up with his older sister, Adrianna, in Egypt. The two of them were enslaved by Intergang and eventually separated. He didn't know where his sister was taken to or if she was even still alive. When he refused to willingly join Intergang, he was taken to a re-education camp in Yemen. There he was brutally beaten but found and saved by Black Adam, Adrianna, Renee Montoya, and Vic Sage.
Adrianna healed him as best she could be he was still left paralyzed from the waist down, unable to walk. However Black Adam, viewing him as his own family because of his marriage to Adrianna, shared a portion of his power with him. When he said Black Adam, he was transformed into Osiris. As Osiris, he decided he wanted to be a hero. He wanted to help people the way Adrianna and Adam had helped him. He was also deemed the Kahndaq's new prince.
Amon accompanied Adrianna and Adam on several of their trips around the world, helping people here and there. When he joined them for dinner at the Sivana residence, he met a walking and talking humanoid crocodile named Sobek. Desperate for a friend, he was easily fooled by Sobek and took him in as his new best friend. The two of them were inseparable.
When he went to try out for the Teen Titans with Sobek by himself, he ended up being denied by a skeptical Freddie Freeman, Captain Marvel Jr. at the time. But he was still eager to become a hero and join the ranks of the Teen Titans, so much so that Freddie agreed to vouch for him in front of the other Titans if he could convince the rest of the world that the Black Marvel family were the good guys, that Black Adam wasn't evil anymore.
With the help of Adrianna, Adam was convinced to help Amon with his cause. A press conference was held where the family all powered down, Amon needing a wheelchair since he couldn't walk when he wasn't Osiris. The press conference helped a great deal and Amon was accepted into the ranks of the Teen Titans. Unfortunately, it didn't last long.
When Amanda Waller sent the Suicide Squad to attack the Black Marvel family, the Persuader made the mistake of trying to kill Adrianna. Terrified for his sister's life, unable to bear the thought of losing her, Amon attacked the Persuader to get him away from his sister. However his control over his powers was still lacking and he used too much strength. He ended up flying right through the Persuader, cutting his body in half.
Waller ended up using the death to sway public opinion against Amon and his family. Not only did Amon had to deal with the trauma of accidentally and violently taking a life, but he was also effectively kicked out of the Teen Titans, who encouraged him to turn himself in. He was taken to Kahndaq where he would be safe.
But he was overcome with guilt. He began to see his powers as a curse and desperately wanted to rid himself of it. He sought out Captain Marvel and his allies at the Rock of Eternity. There he discovered that Freddie had assumed the footage of him killing the Persuader had been fake and had actually stuck up for him with the other Titans. When Amon informed him otherwise, rather than being understand, Freddie became visibly upset but Mary Marvel managed to calm him down.
Billy Batson, as Captain Marvel, approached Amon, believing his presence there wasn't negative because the Seven Deadly Sins didn't want him to be there, which told him that Amon had a good soul. When he found out that Billy thought he had a good soul, he broke down. He begged him to remove his powers, blaming them for the harm he'd caused and the suffering his country was enduring, such as acid rains and several unexplained deaths.
He wasn't the only one to search out the Rock of Eternity's location, however. Adam and Adrianna showed up in time to hear him beg to be removed of his powers and confronted him. Adam insisted that his powers were a gift rather than a curse. Unfortunately that only angered Amon, who attacked and cast the blame on Adam. Adrianna and the Marvels attempted to break the fight up and calm the two men down. Eventually they were successful.
He reluctantly agreed to help Adrianna and Adam figure out what was plague Kahndaq. When he was left alone with Sobek at the palace, while Adrianna and Adam discussed plans, he admitted to still feeling cursed. Sobek was able to convince him to break his promise to his sister and brother-in-law. He spoke Black Adam's name and was returned to his mortal self. However when he expected Sobek to help hold him up, since he couldn't walk, he instead was attacked, killed, and devoured by who he'd thought was his best friend but turned out to be one of the Four Horsemen of Apokolips known as Famine.
Before he was entombed, though, Black Adam magically restored Amon's powers. This helped him when he was risen by the power of Nekron. It allowed him to resist the control of the Black Lantern ring. But he wasn't the only one risen from the dead. He ended up battling and defeating a risen Sobek, after discovering that both Adrianna and Adam were gone. He sacrificed himself to stop Sobek but was later brought back to life by the power of the White Lantern.
After returning fully to life, all Amon wanted to do was return home, which he eventually did, and became determined to bring Adrianna and Adam back as well as return Kahndaq back to it's old prosperous self. At one point he returned to the Teen Titans for help but rather than receiving help and, he'd hoped understanding, he was told by Cassie Sandsmark to turn himself into the authorities for the death of the Persuader. He left the Teen Titans in anger and, upon discovering he couldn't bring his family back on his own, eventually went to Slade Wilson for help.
With the promise that Slade could help him bring his family back, he enlisted in his new Titans team. The first mission, however, was to murder Ryan Choi. Believing he had no choice but to assist Slade in order to bring his family back, he apologized to Ryan but still assisted in his death. He later told Slade that he and his team had no right to name themselves after the Teen Titans.
While with the Titans, he kept the statues of Adrianna and Adam in his quarters and would often stay in there with them, wishing he could bring them back. He then got into an argument with his teammates at the time, Cinder and the Tattooed Man, only to be cut by the Tattooed Man. Shocked at being hurt, he flew away from the Titans. He was then contacted by the Entity and told to free Adrianna, which gave him much needed hope, though he still lacked a way to free her. He firmly believed his life would become better and he'd be able to make the Titans pay for mistreating him once his family was back together.
He experienced another vision after getting knocked out during a fight with a drug kingpin named Elijah. In the vision, he saw Adrianna and she told him that he was guilty because he'd played a role in Ryan Choi's murder. She also told him that in order to bring her back, he had to murder more, sacrificing more people so that she could live. When he woke up, he yelled for Isis, causing a lightning bolt to strike down and electrocute Elijah. Later he found more cracks in Adrianna's statue. He believed Elijah's death had caused the cracks and, willing to do anything to bring his family back, decided that he would indeed have to kill more people.
Amon joined Slade's Titans to Arkham where a prison break soon started. During the break, he ran into Killer Croc and mistakenly thought he was Sobek back from the dead. He attacked Croc but stopped when Dick Grayson as Batman showed up. Dick confronted him about joining Slade's team but he managed to escape Arkham with the rest of his teammates.
After brutally killing some armed criminals in Philadelphia, Amon was confronted by Freddy Freeman, who was the new Shazam. He ended up tricking Freddy and hitting him with magic lightning, stealing his powers for Adrianna. He was then informed by the Entity that he had successfully brought his sister back to life. However when he was reunited with her, Adrianna demanded to know what he'd done to her.
He soon discovered that the deaths he'd caused had had a negative affect on his sister, corrupting her soul. Adrianna then attempted to commit suicide by lightning but Amon shielded her and took the blow for her. When they woke up, they discovered that the corruption was gone from her but she stated she still felt the corruption in him.
He returned with his sister to Kahndaq, though he still had no clue how to bring Black Adam back. Together they tried to protect Kahndaq from Qurac soldiers but Amon became violent and brutally attacked the Qurac soldiers. Then Slade with his Titans arrived in Kahndaq and Amon, believing Slade could still help bring back Black Adam, eventually agreed to help him. But then Adrianna banished him from Kahndaq due to his bloodlust.
After returning to the Labyrinth, he learned that Slade had created a machine to heal his dying son, Joseph Wilson. The machine successfully healed Joseph and Slade told Amon it could also be used to resurrect Black Adam. However he ended up joining Cinder and the Tattooed Man in a fight against the other Titans to destroy the machine. In the end, Cinder sacrificed herself to destroy it and Amon left with Dr. Sivana. He ended up demanding for Sivana to create a new machine to resurrect Black Adam and Sivana agreed on one condition: Amon had to help him kill the wizard Shazam.
Subject Interview
All he'd ever wanted to do, after receiving his powers, was be a hero. He wanted to help people. He'd thought he could do that as Kahndaq's prince. He'd thought he could do that with his family. He'd thought he could do that with the Teen Titans.
Now he had no one. He'd been abandoned by the Titans the second he accidentally killed the Persuader. They hadn't understood. They should have but they hadn't. He'd needed them to understand but instead they had abandoned him, painting him as a villain he didn't want to be. He no longer had any friends. His best friend had killed him - he still wasn't over that; he didn't think he'd ever be over that.
And after all he'd done to bring Adrianna back, he felt he no longer had her or a country anymore. She'd cast him out, banishing him. All he'd wanted was to keep her and the people of Kahndaq safe. All he did was what he'd thought Black Adam would have wanted. Did he like doing any of it? No, he most certainly did not. But it was necessary. Death had become necessary. Brutality had become necessary. He still wanted to do good but sometimes good required pain and he was tired of it being his pain. He was tired of feeling used and then abandoned.
Gods, he just wanted to go home. He'd been staying mostly in Egypt, moving from city to city. He walked the streets, still glad he could walk since being returned to the land of the living, with a hood up to cast shadows on his face. He needed to figure out a way to bring Adam back. He didn't trust Dr. Sivana to get the work done, to not stab him in the back.
There had to be some way - there just had to be. If he brought Adam back, he was certain everything would be better. Adrianna would welcome them both with open arms. Adam could help her understand why he'd done what he'd done. Then they could continue where they'd left off, before Sobek had killed him. They had been planning on figuring out a way to clean up the mess left after he'd killed the Persuader. He just wanted to go back to that time, to before he'd let Sobek convince him to return to his mortal form.
He wanted to go back to that time, when he was a little less broken, a lot less lost - back to that time, when he'd still thought he could be a hero.
There was a cry, someone was stealing from a tourist. The thief ran, barreling right into Amon, who was knocked down, the hood falling back, hidden no more. The thief didn't even stop running. Amon frowned, the part of him that had once been so desperate to be a hero sparking within him, and spoke two simple yet powerful words.
"Black Adam."
