Subject Attributes
Meta-Human Abilities:
Tamaranean Physiology: The people of Tamaran are blessed with a super-human physiology, giving them heightened strength, durability and the natural ability to absorb ultraviolet/solar energy and repurpose it. This typically allows their race to fly.
Psion Experiment: Due to Komand'r undergoing multiple rounds of Psion experimentation, she is now able to use the ultraviolet energy that her body naturally absorbs to create balls, beams and blasts of pure cosmic energy. These are referred to as "Starbolts" by both her and her sister, who also underwent the experiment. This also corrected a childhood illness of Komand'r and allowed her to fly like the rest of her people.
Linguistic Assimilation: As a Tamaranean she is also capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact with another person.
Standard Abilities:
Warlord: Komand'r has ruled over both The Citadel and her own people. She has worked with highly advanced alien technology her entire life and has become a master in both utilizing these weapons herself, and also strategizing for and commanding full armies in intergalactic battle.
Hand-to-Hand: Having trained across the galaxies her whole life in battle tactics and martial arts, Komand'r is a highly lethal combatant.
Paraphernalia:
Tamaranean Forces: Komand'r is the reigning Queen of the Tamaranean people, giving her access to vast resources, weaponry and forces.
Subject Weaknesses:
Super-Villain Past: Although Komand'r seems to teeter on the edge a lot more than most, her focus is now on her people and leading them to prosperity. However, Blackfire has made plenty of enemies in her lifetime and now has to deal with those consequences.
Vengeance: No one holds a grudge quite like Komand'r. She has a fiery temper and is quick to act on her emotions, going as far to enslave her younger sister for years due to reasons completely out of her sisters control.
Subject History
Komand'r was born the eldest daughter of the Royal Family on Tamaran. The first girl born to the family in over one hundred years, she would be celebrated, showered with presents and love, one day courted and set to rule over their people. However, an attack from The Citadel on the very same day of her birth marred this special occasion, and although Komand'r had nothing to do with this awful coincidence, their people couldn't seem to separate the occasions. Along with a childhood illness that rendered her flightless, all of Tamaran agreed that Komand'r would never be fit to lead their people and instead offered her birthright to her younger sister, Koriand'r.
This created a deep hatred and resentment for her family and her people, which typically manifested in her terrible treatment of her younger sister.
Komand'r's rivalry continued and intensified when the siblings were sent for combat training with the Warlords of Okaara. The events of her childhood came to an ultimate head when she attempted to kill Koriand'r during a sparring match. She was stopped and expelled, sending her into a rage that lead her to abandon her people and seek vengeance through The Citadel. She joined their ranks and used her hatred to fuel her, rising quickly into power.
Betraying her people further by providing The Citadel with information on the Tamaranean defenses, Komand'r played a key role in the conquering of her people and the personal enslavement of her sister. She had The Citadel declare that Koriand'r would never be allowed back to their home planet and if she did return, it would be at the expense of their people. Blackfire then spent years traveling the galaxies, torturing her sister all the while. When her sister defended herself against an attacker, Komand'r decided to give the order for her execution, which was unfortunately interrupted when an enemy race, Psions, attacked their ship and captured both sisters.
The Psions decided to use the two for one of their sadistic experiments, attempting to see just how much ultraviolet energy their Tamaranean bodies could absorb before being completely consumed. Luckily, Komand'r's Citadel forces came to their rescue. During their attack on the Psion ship, Koriand'r was able to escape the contraption and displayed the ability to create Starbolts for the first time due to the experiment. Against her better judgement, she released her older sister, who in turn struck her down with the same "Starbolt", in her own violet shade. She attempted to capture her sister again, committed to her idea of execution. Her sister managed to escape her forces, however, and took an escape pod.
Eventually, Komand'r was able to track down her sister to the planet Earth, where she had been working alongside the Teen Titans. Her older sister was set on recapturing Koriand'r and selling her back into slavery on the Citadel Homeworld. Achieving her plan with the help of the Gordanian slavers she'd been working with, Komand'r celebrated the capture of her sister as well as the capture of the Tamaranean goddess, X'hal. The celebration was short lived, ruined by a trap set by both the Teen Titans and the Omegans in order to infiltrate their base of operations.
Confronted in the Citadel throne room by the Titans, Komand'r threatened to unleash the crazed goddess X'Hal unless they surrendered to her. When she was met at a stalemate, Cyborg threatening to kill her ally Lord Damyn, Komand'r responded by killing the man herself and taking control of his fleet and empire. Blackfire turned to mobilize her new found forces towards her home world of Tamaran, but was stalled by an onslaught from Starfire. Before it could come to an end, a Psion employed within the Citadel interrupted to suggest a traditional brawl on their home world, to see who was truly worthy of their royal heritage.
The fight was long and dragged out, Komand'r realizing that she was outmatched against her younger sister. Enraged and ashamed, she broke the rules of their battle and attempted to kill her sister yet again. The attempt backfired on her, her sisters training with the Titans proving extremely successful. The battle ended with what appeared to be Komand'r dying due to her own arrogance.
She was left behind in the falls that they're battle had led them to, and would have died if not for her Dor'ion, a lieutenant of the Citadel and Komand'r's secret lover. The incident did leave Komand'r temporarily blind and her and Dor'ion spent several months working to retrain Komand'r's killer instincts. Recovering better than expected, Komand'r came back stronger and regained her eyesight, ready to continue her quest for the throne. The loss of her lover spurred her back into the role of "conquerer", infiltrating her home planet and inciting a Civil War in an attempt to overthrow her father.
Starfire, the Titans and the Omega Men came to intervene, and after trying to get the groups to fight amongst themsevles, Komand'r resorted to a full on invasion of Tamaran. This attempt was successful, fulfilling her life long dream of reigning over her people. In the process, Komand'r was able to capture some of her sisters teammates, and ban both her sister and brother from the lands.
While ruling over Tamaran for The Citadel, her parents acting as advisors, Komand'r came to the realization that her hatred for her family, her people, her childhood, were all misdirected hatred for herself. Shedding the skin of a ruthless conquerer, Komand'r helped to free her people from The Citadel and learned to rule justly, a warriors fist and a queens heart.
Komand'r helped guide her people through another war, one brought on by the "Evil" version of Starfires teammate, Raven, but she was unable to stop her planet from being destroyed in the process. Working with Koriand'r, the two managed to move the remaining Tamaranean population to the safety of the moon, Jalascis. They renamed this land "New Tamaran" and lived peacefully there until the arrival of the Sun Eater. Ignoring the warning that came from the alien creature Dusk and her younger sister, Komand'r went as far as to exile them from New Tamaran, only for their new home to be destroyed, just like their last.
During the Rann-Thanagar war, Komand'r returned as the leader of small group of surviving Tamaraneans, pledging allegiance to Thanagar. It was, however, all a ruse to gain more power and once again have a planet to settle on. She was working behind the Grand Mor's back all along. During all of this, Komand'r kills Hawkwoman. This greatly angers Hawkman and in return, he reperforms the initial operation the Psions performed on Komand'r to take her powers away.
Komand'r was able to revert the process to restore her powers and her and her people, desperate for a home, sought to take New Rann for themselves. Ready for a full blown attack, Komand'r surprises her people by accepting an alliance with Vril Dox and Adam Strange, agreeing to split the land.
Subject Interview
The cosmos themselves were such a display of power. Stars, planets, moons, life and death written out by forces beyond any true comprehension and Komand'r had been lucky enough to spend her life among them. She watched the universe pass her by, the command ship that she and her crew occupied going at near hyper-speeds. So much out there and yet she had spent so much of her time focused on so little, in comparison. A life filled with heavy decisions, although Blackfire had made the decision making part of it look easy. Thats what hatred did. It settled in your chest like a nasty cold and you'd do anything to alleviate the pressure. At least, that's how Komand'r thought about it now, with a smirk on her lips.
"Your Majesty, there's something you should see." Straightening up a little in her seat, Komand'r turned her attention back to the central window in front of her, monitoring the general condition of her ship by the digital display built into the arm of her chair. "What is it?" Her voice was followed by an eerie silence, the whole of her crew waiting for the lieutenant who had spoken out in the first place. Radars looked fine, no sight of internal or external damage, nothing more than the routine space run that Komand'r always insisted on being part of. It made her feel nostalgic.
"Just ahead."
Blackfire rose from her seat, stepping closer as the whole craft began to slow, peering out into the emptiness of space only to see that it wasn't all that empty after all. "Get me closer." Her command was followed by several nods, members of her crew jumping into action to make sure they could get her into position. "It's not being picked up on any radar, Queen Komand'r." She didn't acknowledge the update, just continued to glare at the object that they approached. She didn't need to get any closer, in all honesty, to know exactly what the floating object was. But it was her duty to her people to slow her mind, to verify her information, to think before acting. But that should definitely not be here, so close to her home and her people.
Slowly, they circled the now clearly visible satellite, cloaked from their radars by advance technology that Komand'r had once been very familiar with. "The Citadel." The group of Tamaraneans seemed to breathe their next breath as one. "Take me home, Lieutenant." Blackfire turned her back to the window, returning to her seat as the team around her watched, frozen in shock for nothing more than a moment before they got back into action. "And bring that with us."
