It never ceased to amaze Dinah just how glum Bludhaven actually was. It's ever-clouded sky and dark, industrial architecture made Gotham seem almost bright. Almost. It occurred to the Canary that she couldn't recall a time she'd visited the city and not arrived to find it overcast and chill. She was sure there were times the sun briefly warmed its colourless concrete, but it seemed, for the most part, that even good weather avoided Bludhaven like the plague.
Unlike crime, for which the city was infamous. The shadowy docks and run-down packing districts were teeming with all manner of criminal enterprises, from arms dealers to traffickers, and it was one of said enterprises that had brought Dinah to Bludhaven. After all, it wasn't a destination she'd visit out of choice.
The Canary stepped neatly over the two crumpled forms at her feet, dusting her hands together. The warehouse guards, who'd had their heads rather firmly driven against the other, lay sprawled in a heap, completely unmoving. Their weapons had been kicked away from their hands, and they showed no signs of rising in the near future. The duo of dockside thugs dealt with, Dinah ducked through the perimeter fence at which they'd been stationed, and, keeping low, darted for the large, central structure that dominated the site, using metallic crates and shipping containers to ensure her presence remained unnoticed by patrolling security staff.
She reached the warehouse walls without having raised alarms, and began scanning the area infront of her for the cracked air-vent the Oracle had suggested she use as an entrance. According to the all-seeing eyes that directed the Birds of Prey's operations, it would bring Dinah out crouched behind a row of crates, keeping her out of sight – which, at this early stage of her mission, was preferable. Once she laid eyes on the damaged structure, Dinah wasted little time in carefully prising the steel grating from its hinges and crawling through the short vent – appearing exactly as Oracle had predicted, hidden by what looked to be a wall of wooden boxes.
“In position,” she muttered, keeping her voice down, before pushing herself up against one of the containers. Once there, she waited for any sort of reply from the vigilante she was to be working with - one of the every growing number of Gotham's Bat family.
