From "fake" to "goddess" in one night. You're doing wonders for my mangled self-esteem.

Participants: Zatanna, Roy Harper Open/Closed: Closed Location(s): Fawcett City Time of Day: Early evening Weather: Brisk and chilly Summary: Zee and Roy investigate a supernatural occurrence
Fawcett City was quaint as ever. Zatanna’s tour only had her playing there for a week but it was her dark night so she was out and about enjoying the sights. It almost had a weird Twilight Zone feel of being back in time in Mayberry or something with how wholesome the downtown area seemed. She stopped at a temporary cart that had been set up with hot drinks and paid for a hot chocolate before finding a seat on the unexpectedly cold stone wall the bordered a nearby garden. It was starting to get chilly and the flowers were starting to be moved out for the winter.
Zatanna sipped her coffee, feeling the heat of it seeping through her lightly gloved hands and warming her chilled fingers. This was actually kinda nice. And probably the kind of thing her therapist meant for her to do whenever she told her to take some time for herself. As she watched a couple holding hands walking down the sidewalk together she felt that twinge of loneliness wrack her as it always did in moments like this when she let her guard down. Children ran and played in the nearby park under the watchful eyes of their parents and it made her miss her father terribly.
Okay why did her therapist think this was good for her again? At least when she was working she wasn’t wallowing. Did she want her to be a wallower? Was that the plan? Maybe it was time to go back to the hotel room, drink the bottle of provided wine, and then pass out until tomorrow afternoon. That seemed like a better plan than sitting out here feeling sorry for herself.
Zee stood back up and started meandering down the path through the park, the sounds of laughter and soft conversation floating in the air around her. Off in the distance between two of the low hills she could see a soft glow of some sort coming emanating. It seemed like the glow of a street light yet there didn’t seem to be any roads back that way and the park didn’t seem to extend much further out then the path that circled the outside of the area. It was a little odd but Zee didn’t think anything off it until there was a bright flash. Odder still. She looked around at the people nearby but no one seemed fazed by it. Maybe it was some sort of activity that always went on back there? It was only after the second flash of light that she felt inclined to see exactly what was going on back there.

OOC: I know this is probably a vague starter but I didn’t know if you wanted Roy already on the case and see she’s in town and seek her out or already be on the case and run into Zee while he’s on his way to investigate. Or you can just have him already investigating and Zee can catch up to him over there. Or whatever. Either way I'm fine with it being crocodile men or whatever you want lol.

Roy Harper, Red Arrow, Arsenal; All the same person, all routinely in over their head. The red-headed hero had agreed to help Captain Marvel while he and his Marvel Family had other commitments to get to outside of their city. While Roy was more than happy to help, and he had been here for roughly a week now, he was still relatively confused as to why he was asked to help. Sure he had stopped some street level issues in the city, and he had stopped a meta-fighting ring that was taking root in the city, but Fawcett City was still a very different city than what he was used to. Sure he had fought some crazy things before, but he was an Arrow, and the Arrows were always known for their more street level baddies, not mystical or cosmic threats like Captain Marvel fought. SHAZAM was on par was Superman, and his baddies were accordingly just as tough. Having Captain Marvel ask for his help either meant the Captain had great faith in Roy, or (in Roy's mind at least) was more than likely out of options and was stuck with asking him.
As Roy was the type of person to get himself in over his head, his evening patrol had ended up putting him in a precarious situation. Having traversed from rooftop to rooftop in a slightly more padded costume to help stay insulate in the cooling temperature, Roy had spotted a very strangely masked man sneaking into a museum and had decided to sneak in after them. This had turned out to be a very bad idea for Roy however, as as soon as he was in, he had triggered some sort of invisible alarm and the strangely masked man shut all the exits, trapping him in the building. Little had Roy known at the time, it was all some magically inclined persons doings.
Eventually being able to stealth and sneak around, Roy found the masked individual reading from a very large book in front of a very large stone. Taking a brief second to take in what he was seeing, a pulse of white energy would leave from the book and run along the floors, walls, and ceiling of the building. In Roy's many years of hero work, while he didn't understand magic, understood that all of this happening probably meant something bad. Just as Roy drew his bow and made his presence known, a large club swung at him seemingly out of nowhere and had sent him flying. The owner of the club was a giant ogre like being, who then gave chase to the small red-clad hero.
From the outside however, while this all happened, everything appeared normal. That was, though, only if you weren't magically inclined. To any normal person, the building appeared as it always had, just a plain old museum. To anyone with magical powers, the building seemed to be pulsing and glowing with light.
"<Hey, hi. League? It's Red Arrow. You'll never gue-WHOMPAH, ha..ahha...>" Roy's voice would course out over the Justice Leagues Communication channels, all in the hopes that someone would hear and be close enough to help. He had, however, been cut off by the club meeting flush with his side again, sending him flying into a wall. As he slid down the wall, he shook his head and looked up to the Ogre like being. Standing with a small stagger, Roy fired off two arrows at it, before limp-running and trying to keep some distance. "<As...As I was saying. You'll never guess what happened. I got myself in over my head again and could use some help. Fawcett City, B. Burt Museum. There's a guy with a big book chanting in front of a big rock and I'm getting my ass kicked by Shrek. No ide-CRASH!. Gotta focus, send back up, Arrow out>" Roy's words were rushed as some priceless antique vase shattered over his head. This thing was persistent and keeping him away from the masked man. Roy needed to do something, anything, but he was at a loss. He needed help.
